25900 Khz Radio Mayak

Much fading here on this new frequency.
Very good audio but only may be 5% of the time.

Today i had nothing.
It was a DRM mode A transmission.
I believe those are not intended for long distance transmission.
Perhaps it was low power
May be I and Marcel were lucky to catch it.

They are back today but no audio yet.
Edit
Sorry Marcel I missed the fact that you were the first to spot them.
I have audio now but at times it seems they switch to a 20 Khz wide mode
Or may be its my Sodira software because they managed to crash it once
witch is not an easy thing to do.
It stopped suddenly as I was writing this so I wonder if it is not an
experimental transmission.
I tried to send a reception report to one of their email addresses but no reply yet.
I used
newsmayak@radiomayak.ru

Back again this morning.
Sudenly it rises of the noise and i get a few seconds of very good audio.
I also received CB type NBFM transmission on 25845 and 25915 Khz
Once again Mayak managed to crash the Sodira sofware and they seem to use
sometimes a 20Khz mode.

Wherever this Mayak is transmitting from, there is certainly no trace of signal here in Stockholm. I have to hope for an opening with MUF >25 MHz over 1500 km or until we get our first strong Es, then I might be lucky.

In case they run 20 kHz, I'm afraid it would be tricky to get anything useful out of it... I substituted my 455 kHz IF filter with a 1000 pF capacitor, then I got good decoding of Vatican on 26 MHz (those were the days... when they were up and running...)

Hello all,

It was short (a few days) test transmission on 25900 kHz at Moscow within the framework of local SFN research.
We used 2 transmitters:
1 - 500 W, 100 m antenna height, Kurkinskoe shosse;
2 - 100 W, 35 m antenna height, Aviamotornaya st (Moscow Technical University of Communication and Informatics).
Both antennas was 5/8 CB, tuned to 25900. Transmitters was linear with modulators from RF-Mondial.
Audio content and label was "Radio Mayak", mode A, 10, 18 and 20 kHz.
"Radio Mayak" is standard test signal for all RTRN research in Russia, and at
newsmayak@radiomayak.ru do not know when and where his signal is used in the test transmission.

I confirm that this transmission was carried out on 25900 from Moscow with low power in February 2013.
We did not expect that stable long-range reception may be possible therefore not inform in advance.
Transmission on 25900 are finished.
Thank you all for observation!

Oleg
