Radio Romania on 7370 from Galbeni

Radio Romania's second DRM transmitter is on air now, daily with 90 kW beamed to Europe:

0600-0626 daily 6100 kHz French
0630-0656 daily 6020 kHz English
2100-2126 daily 7370 kHz French

I catched the last minutes of today's evening edition and wasn't surprised to see the Transradio demo-configuration and to hear some horrible audio out of my speakers... Anyway, 100% CDA in six minutes - a good result.

But please please please check the audio-feeds in Galbeni and Tiganesti, probably two of the worst sounding DRM transmissions ever. Please change this, technicians in and around Romania...

Btw: The TX site mentioned in the PNG file is wrong, of course.

Hi,

Excellent reception from R Romania. Station ID: Galbeni EM2.
Time: 21:10-21:26 UTC, when the Tx left the air in the middle of the interval signal. The audio quality needs some improvement

High bitrate and low audio quality do not match.
Something around 16 kbps would give more robustness.

A rather strong signal, but the bitrate is too high (how many times have I mentioned that before?) and the audio sounds terrible. Sometimes you wonder why no-one at the transmitter side cares about their audience?!

Propagation is not good tonight and a utility TX 3 kHz up is causing serious problems.

Good signal but the audio seems to be processed for AM transmission.
Too much compression .Totally useless in DRM.
There is interference from a weak 7375 Khz transmitter.(Chinese ?)
