CVC is down from 18kbps stereo to 15kbps mono.
Until now I had a little good audio, now I have a lot bad audio, especially with music.
In german we say: I see it with one laughing and one crying eye.
There is an "improvement" in CDA, but this does not cure the reason TX IMD, see screenshot.
The impulse response is bad and the signal strength still below S9 at this time of year.
In a month's time hopefully the propagation will be better.
Then it will be time to go back to better audio quality again.

Dear Friedrich,

I did some test with 16 QAM yesterday, because Rafael from Brazil asked me to do it. Today we will go back to good audio quality.

Hi Mathias,
I think transmitting near FM quality is a good decision
although the comparison between yesterday and today makes me think.
Yesterday at robust low bitrate we had 99.84% CDA at 17.0dB average SNR.
Today at higher bitrate we had only 88.22% CDA although the average SNR
was higher at 17.8dB!
That means yesterday I had not so good audio all the time,
but today very good audio only during the last 25 minutes.

Hi all,

I listened for a while last night, but unfortunately I did not get any decoded audio so I switched off after about 20 minutes. 14.x kbps with AAC+ can sound OK, I've heard that before on other stations.

Today I think staying at high audio quality is the right decision.
CVC should try to reduce the TX ntermodulation.

Tonight we had a line voltage outage, so the log is split into two pieces:

23rd Apr.

In Switzerland we don't have much line voltage problems, but we do have some ionosphere outage problems. The last 30 minutes were the best.

"Better" is a relative definition. At least last night's result was better than nothing...

Propagation conditions are slowly improving, almost 22 dB SNR at the end:

25th Apr.

Still the same situation here: The best bit is towards the end of the transmission. An unattended log.
