An edit: The frequency of Vatican Radio is on 15775 not on 17775 kHz.

And the Pope has not yet answered my e-mail of the 18th Nov. regarding if the TX on 26.060 MHz is on the air or not. This TX should be possible to see in Stockholm when MUF is high. I'm 2000 km away and MUF for 1500 km is 21.4 MHz just now here in the afternoon and 34.5 MHz for 3000 km.

Just have to wait and see if they read e-mails down there.

26060 kHz

I got the following answer from the Vatican Radio:

The frequency 26060 kHz is currently not broadcast. It is in our intentions
to resume the broadcast as soon as possible.

RRI 9800 kHz 2000-2030 UTC

Is this a valid listing?

The RRI web page does not show it on their schedule, and it has been a long time since I've heard or seen the broadcast.

The correct frequency for the RRI French transmission is 7370 kHz and time 2100-2130 UTC.

Their 'morning' broadcast is listed incorrectly, too. It's on 9650 kHz, 0600-0630 UTC.

Also missing is the Chinese transmission from Tiganesti, 17870 kHz, 0500-0530 UTC.

Listening now in Japan to RNZI on 17675 kHz in AM, not DRM. Time is 0050 UTC on 21st Jan. 2015. Any second opinion on this transmission?

One of the transmitters needed parts. My guess is they might not be able to run dual services AM & DRM until everything is restored.

not very encouraging. I was never able to find their DRM signals. Often found AM on 19.000 MHz, which is not listed. RA puts a good strong signal over here, as always. I just bought a Pioneer car radio with SW, mainly to get bluetooth in the car.

PS Digger, when I went to Japan in 1983 I bought a Sony ICF7600D and with the included hookup wire antenna thrown out the hotel (Kyoto) window was able to get my home broadcast - RNZI. Did a similar thing in the USA many years later, same radio. So special being able to catch up on Morning Report while trying to get to sleep in the hot UNI dorms at Oshkosh Airventure.

Hi Aetheradio,
Thanks for that RNZI information. It seems like they're now back on the air again.

Regarding R. Australia, I made a "scan" on the 13th January at 0120 UTC and found:
15.240 MHz Radio Australia in English (weak)
15.415 MHz Radio Australia in English (weak)
17.750 MHz Radio Australia in English

The rest are Chinese stations practically every 20 kHz in every band... at least that's how it feels.

In Japan I rely mainly on RNZI and RA to get the news the Japanese TV channels don't bother with (such as news from outside their borders).

Of course I have the web, but I still prefer steam radio...
