Good results except for a break around 1930 UTC. The audio needs some improvement, a change to a higher bitrate and Mode B would be good. Max SNR was 27.9 dB and 99.84% CDA.

Good reception but bitrate and audio quality too low.
15 to 17 kbps should be possible.

Reception was very good here today!
Doppler was down at 1 Hz and SNR very stable at 29 dB.
There was hardly any fading, the signal always was within a 5 dB window!
The only problem is that the sound quality at 9 kbps is worse than with AM!
With todays signal mode B at 15 kbps should be possible!
These little dropouts were TX related.
I wonder why the shorttime frequency stability is so bad.

15120 Voice of Nigeria test

Very strong signal on Newstar With Degen MS 31 in SW UK. Very poor audio quality though, they need to feed TX with good a signal

Strong signal, high SNR, perfect decoding and the Doppler wasn't too high last night, but the 9.1 kbps is a disaster. The audio quality is a catastrophe.

Nice strong signal this evening too. The Newstar DR111 arrived this morning, so I let it play on the same frequency as Dream this evening. There were no drop-outs that I can recall. I need to look into the different features and get used to the controls... I wrote to VoN and they replied that they were going to look into the matter regarding the 9 kbps bitrate and perhaps dare to fiddle with the controls a bit. We can only hope that they increase the bitrate. The audio in the DR111 was pretty muffled (but that was not a problem with the Newstar!)

I was away. The log was unattended. Were they on air? Or did they try out another configuration?

According to an e-mail from VoN this evening they said that they were going to use 14 kbps and Mode B and asked me to report, but at least after I read the mail there was no change in the transmission parameters...

Added May 23: It was Mode B but still 9 kbps...

According to an e-mail from VoN last night they said that I was late last night and that they had switched back to the "normal" mode before I logged.

Tonight they used Mode A .... but still 9 kbps...
