What does BEAM means? and how to calculate

Dear Freinds,
Can you please help me to explain what does Beam means in a shortwave transmission. I'ld like to locate the DRM frequency target to Southern part of India. Latest TDP target to India, but not receivable to Southern part of India? So, is it beam 79 too narrow? Beam angle is included angle or representing some co-ordinate systems?

In the DRM schedules, Beam means the direction of the transmitted signal.
