There was <1% decoded audio during the transmission.

15:00-18:00 UTC Planetary K-index 1-. Local K-index 1.
18:00-21:00 UTC Planetary K-index 0. Local K-index 0.

Planetary A-index: 11. Solar flux: 86. EISN Sunspot number: 34.
Sunset 17:38 UTC.

With the local sunset 20 minutes before the start of the transmission, there is no signal decoded, so I think I will stop monitoring this frequency.

Radio Kuwait 15540 kHz Reception near Atlanta, Georgia, USA

This afternoon's reception report - very little, only at the start - no audio decoded, max SNR about 6 dB.

VOACAP shows the signal path, for this month at my receive location, to be nominally open for about the first 1 to 1.5 hours of the transmission for any chance of decoding (see the graph in the 2nd attachment).

**Correction the graph is for September 2017 - not October (see next post)**

A better bet would be later in the evening using a frequency in the 31 meter band (red colour on the VOACAP graph).

VOACAP Correction

The VOACAP graph in the last post was for the month of September 2017.

The VOACAP plot for this current month, October 2017, is shown in the attachment and indicates that there is no, or little, chance of decoding at my location.

I'll leave the September graph in the last message intact as it did show propagtion path correctly last month.

Good today

Hi - I made a couple of changing to my setup. I got a Wellbrook antenna, but the
real difference came when I changed locations to a quieter place a few kilometers away. I had good reception of this service today in Naples, FL, USA using a Gospell GR-216. I will have the audio posted on the Gospell GR-216 page or I can send it to anyone requesting it.

Hi Hans,

Did your good reception last the whole three hours?

With digital reception, the audio is either there or not. Unlike analog it does not vary or get noisy. A recording of the audio does not give us much information about the signal except that it is strong enough to decode. It does not tell us the actual strength, or the SNR, etc. Most of us have decoded the R. Kuwait audio and know how good it is!

The Naples area, located at the tip of Florida, is where the signal happens to be the strongest in the USA (see message #234 in this thread).

Due to the propagation path signal levels, on the US east coast, in October are weaker than in September. It would be interesting to know how long you were able to decode audio.

Hopefully Hurricane Irma did not cause too much damage at your home.

Can you show us on YouTube? No signal in Brazil.

For ~12 mins the decoding was almost perfect (35.5dB max SNR). Then the signal dropped and got nothing.
