16th Aug.

Two logs taken simultaneously with the FRG-7700 and the Gospell GR-216 using the same antenna. Good results until the propagation weakened around 2000 UTC.

Radio Kuwait 15540 kHz Reception near Atlanta, Georgia, USA

This afternoon's reception report - 29.53% audio decoded, max SNR 18.67 dB.

1. The stereo audio quality is the best that I have heard since lstening to the Deutsche Welle DRM transmisions from Wertachtal on 75 meters back in 2006.

2. Radio Kuwait is testing, and I have been monitoring their signal strength on SDR web sites sites in North and South America. Earlier this month their signals were much stronger in the southern part of Brazil and not as strong on the east coast of the USA on this 15540 kHz frequency. Today and yesterday it looks like they changed their antenna (or slewed) beam to favour the USA east coast and Central America.

3. Looking at VOACAP analysis I think they are using relatively low power, perhaps 25 KW DRM (= 50KW analog) during this testing period.

Reception in France was perfect until the last minute for the
16 08 17 transmission.
In general the last hour is spoiled by propagation .

By the way the propagation has improved... I'm going to listen to it again yesterday.
