According to some insider info. The schedule is from 20:25 to 18:05 (UTC). Main service area is North East China. Central and East China should also get good coverage.

No signal here in Japan because it is broad daylight here at the time of writing (00:20 UTC). I received a weak signal around 0010 UTC with a 0-30 MHz Kiwi SDR at Shenzhen, China. The SNR at that location was about 4-5 dB and no audio.

Mode B / 10 kHz
Interleaver: 400 ms
SDC/MSC: 4/16
Protection: 1/1
Audio: 1/0
Time/Date: Tue Jul 24 08:11 (Chinese local time!)

Digital shortwave done right! Wow!

Now, xHE-AAC please, and possibly a better frequency in the 25 or 31 meter bands.

China National Radio on 6030 kHz

My two logs from last night in central Japan. The first log is 2 hours 40 minutes and the second is 3 hours 38 minutes long. There were only a few fragments of decoded audio. The transmission seems to be a mix of talk and music.

The tip-off did not provide the info. about the Tx location. On the other hand, you can detect the whereabouts by conducting HF direction finding via KiWi TDoA. Some enthusiast has applied that technique and successfully captured the CNR Tx site in AM mode.

Just tried out the very neat KiwiSDR TDoA direction finding feature on the China 6030 kHz transmitter.

Nice detective work! Considering the heavy multi-path character of propagation condition typical for this meter band.

FYI, I've just received this email from the drmrtprc@163.com email in reply to my reception reports:

Quote:
Dear Chris,

Greetings from Beijing. Thank you for your attention.

Since 23rd Jul. test DRM on 6030 kHz became a regular test transmission. The schedule is 2025-1805 UTC. It is just a domestic broadcasting test. We will update the requirement into B18 HF broadcasting schedules. And in the test period, the normal AM transmission on 6030 kHz will be shut down.

In the near future, there may be more and more test DRM transmission. Look forward to your attention and feedback.
Please feel free to contact us.

Best regards.

Sincerely
Sun

Yesterday at 0822 UTC (1722 JST) I received the Label and started the log. There is a gap between 1805 and 2015 UTC. I stopped the log at 2203 UTC. The attached log covers 0822-1805 UTC. Max. SNR was 13,25 dB at 1142 UTC and there was 3,32% decoded audio.

Note: Friday's date was "Sat Jul 28" in the Evaluation in DReaM. The clock was Bejing time, not UTC.

Perhaps the typhoon T12 blew the signal away last night? Anyway, poor receiving conditions in this two and a half hours long log.

China 6030 kHz KiwiSDR reception Yokohama, Japan

Some of the KiwiSDR web receivers in Japan were receiving and decoding and others were not.

Here is today's log from Yokohama (only 1 hour permitted with that receiver).
