KBS on 5875Khz from Sofia

No audio here .Only ident; KBS
Interference on channel + lower side band from 5885
AM on 5885 is good .
It seems to be a 9 Khz signal.
May be transmission is from 2 transmitters with different aerials

Bad results on the DRM transmission due to interference, only a few bits of audio decoded. The AM transmission was Ok for listening.

@F1BJB: Yes DRM was a 9 kHz signal.

KBS DRM on 5875 kHz

DR111 with an active antenna outside
------------------------------------

Typical 6 MHz reception in the evening = bad. On top of that they have increased the bitrate to 19.68 kbps to make listening a bit more difficult. Will they never learn?

At least the AM transmission was possible to understand.

6 MHz in the evening was never a success according to my experience.

Almost 100% of a too compressed audio.
As a result during the rare silences there was a slight hum
Hum also present on the test tone at the end
There is a small AM interference on 5875 and 5885

Perfect results tonight and last night, low SNR limited by the Tx.

KBS

Last night got quite a few drop outs mainly due to splatter from it's AM broadcast, although tuning down a few kHz seemed to help. Audio was not the best, too compressed, although the bitrate was around 17kbps if I remember, so should be better.

KBS needs to do a bit more tweaking.

KBS

Good reception this evening, audio seemed less muffled (or maybe it's just me).
Would be good to have German/English audio channels though, my German is a bit rusty

Not much point to listen to this transmission. The configuration is not bad, but like I said in a previous post this evening, DRM and 6 MHz usually do not go well together at night. The Channel Impulse Response is nil. Or at least very wide and without a distinct peak.
