Superb results this morning (21-Jan-2006) with no-dropouts reception at 0748 UTC. SNR ranging from 15.6 to 18.5 dB from home QTH at Detroit, MI USA using DRM Software Radio connected to a TenTec RX-350 receiver.

SFN trial during morning hours
Dear all,
in order to improve reception during the moring hours, RTL is currently transmitting in SFN mode from 8:00UTC to 9:50UTC (9:27UTC on the weekend). Involved transmitters are the transmitters of BCE in Junglinster and Deutsche Welle in Sines. Synchronisation has been adjusted to cover France in an optimal way. The SFN tests are scheduled to run for a few weeks. Regards, Michel |

Hi Michel,
at 8 UTC there was no synchronisation possible with Dream, but strong signal level. Then again perfect reception, like before.

Hi Michel,
from my results (decoding, IR and signal strength) I cannot tell when Sines was transmitting, I had good results before and after the times that you mentioned, so at least things did not get worse with the SFN ![]() Also sync problems at 0800, using DRMSWR. Simone |

Hi,
for organisational reasons we decided not to transmit in SFN on the weekends. SFN operation will resume monday morning. Regards, Michel |

Hi Michel,
I havn´t seen morning reports on RTL´s transmissions from France lately, but for Germany an SFN with a transmission from Sines before 0800 would be more interesting (same on 6095 kHZ) as we already get a good signal at 0800, see also today´s report on 6095 kHz. Simone |

Hello to all,
Good reception this morning after 9:40 UTC. Before 9:25 there were local QRM sources I eliminated. Report done on a laptop running with batteries only. 73, de Stephane |

SFN
Hi Michel
I think that part of the problem is the connection between RTL and Sines. In the last days it seem working more or less...But is the net delay stable? I`m not working at the moment during the SFN test, but I have noticed that the system working with net delay between 400 and 500 ms, but some times this go up to 700, or under 300, and maybe loss synchronism. I waiting for SAT connection. I`m shure that will be most beter.

Driving from Duisburg to Essen via A59, A42, B224.
Signal was unusually stable. There are many high voltage power lines running parallel and crossing the road there causing a lot of problems most of the time, so a very good result.

Hello to all,
Good result this morning, only short dropouts. If SFN worked at this time, I couldn't see it. Logged on a laptop running on batteries only. 73 , de Stephane |
