Shortwave Archive

This is an excellent resource for shortwave recordings.
I recently uploaded a DRM recording of the BBC WS from Moosbrunn (7355kHz). It uses archive.com to host the content.

Since the BBC broadcast from Moosbrunn is one of the few current broadcasts in DRM transmitting Journaline data, I wish someone would post the daily OFDM recording for decoding with DReaM ... The current transmission from Moosbrunn just doesn't have enough power or proper azimuth to reach beyond the eastern parts of the USA.

Journaline

As much I enjoy decoding BBC's Journaline (it sometimes takes ages on the BBC for some reason, VoR is much fast), it is only a RSS type feed displaying only the first few lines of their website news articles.
If I remember it displays BBC Europe, BBC Asia & BBC Hindi headlines.
Still handy to see the headlines though, especially if your in the middle of nowhere with no internet access.
If you want I can record the actual DRM transmitted audio (IF output) so you can decode it yourself

Please do. Personally, I only record digital programs before decoding because of the potential for retrieving digital data along with the audio.

TIA

I put a page on my web site:

http://www.omnirep.se/en/drm/drmplayback_en.html

where you can download a recording of BBC from this morning (26th Nov. 2013). It plays very well in Dream V.1.14 by the way, and of course it plays very well with a DR111 receiver.

IF Output of BBC WS 7355kHz

Give this a go, it works for me OK in Dream v2.2 (svn857) using File > Open File. Journaline should start to appear about 5 minutes in. Sorry for the high sample rate/file size and input level was a bit on the high side.

IF Output of BBC World Service with Journaline recorded on 25th November 2013 at approx 0823UTC in the UK.

No problem. I thank both you and Terje for the recordings. Due to the onset of Thanksgiving, I'll get to them within the next couple of days. If it's not too inconvenient, I'd like to see periodic recordings. Maybe, select a specific day per week to record BBC on 7355 kHz or something similar. TIA and I'm sure others will also appreciate it.

Totally cool. Journaline needs to be more fully utilized by broadcasters. Thanks

Journaline

Agreed, a very underused DRM feature, besides crystal clear audio I want multimedia content too.
Although some more lines per headline would be nice BBC

I thought so too. But you have to wait > 10 minutes, then it will appear.

Naturally, a DR111 recording deserves a DR111 for decoding so I tried it. Your recording also provided me an opportunity to examine the Journaline capability of the DR111. Thanks

In the future, I won't respond to each act of kindness as it'll be a bit repetitive. Just remember that I especially appreciate the recordings because BBS WS on 7355 kHz is one of the few digital broadcasts with Journaline. Thanks!
