Vatican DRM in 11 mb?

I often see listed the DRM "Railway Roma" station at Vatican City as broadcasting 24 hrs/day on 26060, with a tiny signal strength (less than one kw). Do they actually broadcast?

I remember thirty-five years ago hearing, here in Newfoundland, HCJB in the 11mb (26100 kHz) broadcasting from Ecuador with only 100 watts (in of course AM mode). That was during a sunspot peak.

We've just past a sunspot peak. If they have been broadcasting, has anyone heard the 26060 DRM signal at any distance from Rome?

Hi Philip,

There is a thread for this transmitter if you search for 26060 . I asked the Vatican a while ago (long while) and got the following answer (I have asked again but I have not received any response):

"Dear Sir, Thank you for the kind message. The frequency 26060 kHz is currently not broadcast. It is in our intentions to resume the broadcast as soon as possible; I'll keep you informed on developments.
Best regards.

Dear Sir/Madam,,

Could you please tell me if Radio Vatican still uses the frequency 26060 kHz
with 1 kW in DRM 24 hopurs every day? When I lived in Switzerland some years back I would sometimes be able to receive this transmission during favourable shortwave conditions....."
