Great! Hopefully, WRNO (IIRC) isn't broadcasting on the same frequency at the same time.

Alokesh,

TIA for the updated information. I'll try if the channel is clear. I can't think of any station on or near that frequency in the USA at the moment.

Seeing some signal here in New Zealand - weak signal with three services, all of which are codecs I can't decode anyway!

Signal went off at 0415. Came back around 0443, but had faded right down by then.

I noted at good signal on the KiwiSDR in Qatar, but still couldn't find any codecs

Cheers, Chris

I tried, but didn't see any signal as expected. I'll try again just for the fun of it. I used my SDR-4+ because it's a bit more sensitive than my GR-216 since I won't be able to decode any audio anyway due to the weak or non-existent signal. Although I can understand the plight of others, I'm pleased to see the move to xHE-AAC as it's an outstanding codec with receivers available. We're nearing 2020 and the next iteration of this codec will likely be released about 2025. It'll be nice to eventually see AIR return to shortwave with the xHE-AAC codec instead of the aging HE-AAC+.

I monitored 11620 kHz for the last 70 minutes or so, but there no signs at all of DRM here in central Japan. There was a weak to moderate Chinese AM signal on until 0600 UTC.

Nothing making it to New Zealand on July 5th, but I was able to get some audio from 11620 khz using the KiwiSDR in Qatar. The main channel was noted in both 17.8k AAC+ stereo, and 11.4k AAC mono.

Cheers, Chris

No traces of DRM in Japan either, otherwise I noticed the same as Chris. And the German was Hindi.
