11830 kHz VoR
My first report of this transmission for documentation in the forum
and my last as the VoR mumbling low bitrate audio is a pain in the ear. Because of that I do not listen to VoR any more. Long gone are the times when VoR had one of the best quality DRM signals on shortwave. ![]() Last edited by FritzWue : 27-09-2012 at 10:12. |

Almost perfect reception this morning in this unattended log. Yes, the audio "quality" is long gone. Shame on VoR.

Can anyone receive this broadcast in the Americas, especially NA if possible? The particular broadcast in question originates from Taldom at 260 degrees and 40 KW. Probably, this particular beam would heard in Africa rather than the Americas.

Taking propagation into consideration, with the 9 kbps bitrate they used today the reception would be possible, even with very low signal strength here. If the sound quality was bad before it is even worse now.

VoR went back to only one service at 13,6 kbps.
The sound is not yet good but closer to my minimum DRM listening quality. At 34 dB average SNR a higher bitrate like 17 kbps should be no problem. |

On their web site they didn't publish a summer frequency plan yet. Neither drm.org has the summer plan from Radio Moskow. Could anyone post a link to it or publish it here please?

A not very strong signal.
Almost perfect audio anyway. Interesting English programme too. |

DR111 with external, active antenna
Excellent reception. 31 dB SNR is a record for the DR111 I think.
