I don't think it's relevant what you or I or any other enthusiast will think.

Problem is that publications like teltarif draw in mass audiences and thus will shape public opinion in a way not easy to correct later.

Just wanted to draw your attention to the fact that there is a media world outside DRM consortium and their press releases. This should be taken into account.
    greetings ...

The problem will be removed fast enough, if the receiver of high quality will go to sale. There will be another one - what to receive? I think not many users will want to trace time and to twist handles for searching of exotic station. The majority wish to have a “fast food”….

Visited IBC today. Yesterday there was an event about DRM+, but today I had to look very carefull and only found two boots where the Uniwave receiver could be seen. Compared to the other machines, it is a light machine. But the current version does not have DAB (an omission).

                  How about DRM+?

The Uniwave Receiver has come late and now doesn't comply with DRM's Profile 1: it must support DRM+ on band II.

I hope this features (DAB+ & DRM+) will be added to next versions of Uniwave Receiver. I saw some photos of Uniwave versions which have stereo speakers and another, a dinamo.

Yap, but its allready sold out this shipping, the am.fm drm model. Next shipping in november or december.
Next will have dab+, next year, not drm+ yet. DRM will be in band, l, ll, lll and L-band in the future.
UNIWAVE with DAB+ helps DRM a lot. More listners on DRM.
                    AM/DRM on 150 kHz - 27 MHz
DRM+ in band l, ll, lll, and L-band id the future, don't need anything else.

                            U.S. Owner: Here's a Review. A huge thumbs down.

I have purchased a UniWave from the Australian dealer (Michael Cratt at AvComm). I received the radio on Nov. 28th in good condition. Michael shipped it Nov 23rd, so it took less than 5 days to receive it here in Ohio. The cost was about $500 USD including shipping. It was an insane purchase, but I love DRM and I'm kind of an early adopter of stuff, so it was worth it to me.

So far, the radio is a huge disapointment. DRM reception is okay. AM/FM/Shortwave reception is horrid!

                            1) DRM reception is okay. I heard the tail-end of the Vatican Radio transmission on 9800 from Sackville(actually, only "Chistus Vincent" -- the interval signal), but the UniWave captured and received the signal very well from 2125 UTC. The RCI broadcast starting at 2200 on 9800 came in very well.

                            2) Ergonomically, the thing is a nightmare. You must enter the shortwave frequency in kHz or scan. There's no "tuning".

                            3) AM sensitivity is terrible. It barely captures WLW 700 kHz from 30 miles away.

                            4) Shortwave sensitivity is acceptable. Shortwave is a different "mode" than DRM. You can't just "tune" shortwave and then go into DRM mode. You have to "search".

                            5) Battery life is TERRIBLE!

                            6) Don't waste your time or money on this Chinese piece of garbage. It's a lousy AM/FM/Shortwave receiver and only a halfway decent DRM receiver. If it were able to TUNE shortwave and then go into DRM mode it would be okay, but it can do neither.

                              Hi all
I don`t understanding why the DRM receiver need be a completlly new receiver concept. Why don`t make a decent SW receiver like a SONY portable receiver and simplly add a DRM decoder module?...I think that all are forget the RF performances, and looking only for "digital side" of the receiver. I don`t beleave on the RF circuits without good coils and filters!!!... Firts make a good RF receiver, with a good sensitive good IR, good dinamic range, low noise oscliators, and than make a simply DRM, DRM+ decoder, and put it inside!!! it is all we need!!!!
