I tried both:
1. "Cancel" => this resulted in error message and programm shutdown
2. "OK" => this brought up the message "No internet connection", then "OK", and then this resulted in error message and programm shutdown

I cleared the folder completely except the .exe => this works

I downloaded the transmitter file from the homepage by browser, transferred it via usb-stick to the DRM-computer (even if this would have internet access update would not work because of proxy server that has to be configured) and replaced the 0 Byte file that was created by the .exe

I got runtime error after a selected log was read and processed.

It seems that whenever a runtime error occurs I have to clear the folder to get it working again.

Your TX Sites file was for some reason a binary file. Delete your drmtransmittersites.dat and update your sites. That will fix the problem.

 I use Firefox to download via "Ziel speichern unter ..." and can read the contents of the file using proton editor ...

I got this working finally.

Thanks for your support in analyzing the problem - also via PM.

As I wrote before

this does not work.

So I transferred the complete folder to my computer at home, deleted the transmitter-file, updated the log and clicked OK for internet update.

Now it works.

By transferring the complete folder back to my workplace-DRM-PC this also works. :)

Downloading the file manually by browser from the above link does not work here.

Finally solved this mysterie also:

The only way to get this file is to download the OLD version of the program. It's included in that .zip.
You cannot find any hint neither on the homepage nor in the .zip of the actual version ...

OK, I'll put some basic installation tips on the DRM-Plotter page in www.

Hi all,

I had the same problem with drmtransmittersites.dat file. When I downloaded it was at binary form. Simply I opened it in wordpad, saved as txt and renamed as dat, and that was.

Digger 16-06-2010 13:20

I added some bits and pieces on the DRM-Plotter page this afternoon.

@John: Interesting... When I click on the TX Sites link in my Firefox it just insists on opening the file; I am not able to save it.

@ Terje: No problem for me to save the file with Firefox, but it's in binary form, (why ?). If you cannot "save" the file, just open it in a new window (and it is in txt form !) then select all and etc...or save the link as...

With the update function in the TX Sites in DRM-Plotter, there is no need to download it manually, I think. If you run into a "No Record", just click on it and you can get the latest data (if you're on-line), or you can add the site manually if you know where it is. Btw, what you enter yourself will not be deleted in case you update from the web at a later date.

Hi, Zyg and all,

1.: "Sometimes the logger will not record the correct frequency. It's a lot easier to correct the DRM text log then it it is the Loglong (or is it longlog) csv file."

Hint: You only need to replace the frequency in the first line in the CSV file:
FREQ/MODE/QAM PL:ABH,
88640/X0000 ,

2.: "For low SNR logs I'll use the DRMCalc as it is less "populated" with extraneous stuff."

Hint: Just uncheck "Dopper" (and "Delay") to get rid of them from the plot.

This is only true on a private PC when you have access to the internet.
In a business environment with numerous limitations sometimes it's feasable to download the file externally.

This is valid information, thank you.

Terje,

Thank you for the hints. The first one in particular, I'll try that next time!

% Decoded Audio

The percentage Decoded Audio differs slightly in the DRM Plotter from DRMCalc because of the way Dream saves data to the DreamLog.txt and the DreamLogLong.csv.
I have tested different files with both programs and I get differences ranging from 0.01 to 3.6 %.

The difference in a particular 7 min 35 sec log resulted in 91.56% with DRMCalc (9614 Decoded Audio Frames divided by 7 minutes x 1500 Audio Frames = 10500).

DRM-Plotter recorded 87.92% from 10006 "AudioOK" during 455 seconds (11380).

That means that both programs calculate correctly with the data it it is fed with. I hope this sheds some light on the issue.
