you might already have one in your desktop or laptop? check whether it can be configured?

Usually cards in lap/desktops have only one input(not stereo).
If You need I/Q input, better use external soundcard.
I use E-MU 0204. It has 24-bit/192kHz recording .

Hi,

i have several of these USB soundcards in use and i am really happy with them. They work under windows and Linux (under Linux its a bit a hack),
the quality is really good and you have several inputs/outputs.
If you plan to use the card for TX as well you should consider to add extra lowpass filters to the audio because the noisefloor outside the audible range is extremely high.
