Polish Radio's external service will start DRM tests in English and German on December 15, 2008.

And right in the middle of the month Polish Radio jumps into Digital Radio Mondiale. We use for this experiment the frequency 3975 kHz, which brought only bad results in AM. Now put a DRM receiver on your Christmas wish-list to tune into our evening-broadcast in digital quality. We are excited about your reception results.

Here are the details:

1800-1900 on 6015 WER 40 kW / 300 deg to NoEu in English
2030-2100 on 3975 WER 40 kW / non-dir to WeEu in German

On air now, Good results here, but Voice of Vietnam via UK on 3985 kHz keeps the SNR low (max 21 dB SNR).

Audio quality is... ehem... not perfect. Even at 15 kbps audio can sound much better. Clipping and noise, very sad - the programe content is quite good.

Perfect reception here!

PS: I forgot to say that I listened to the programme with the Morphy Richards with its telescopic antenna. There was one short drop-out, otherwise perfect.

The signal was stable ~43 dBuV and gave a nearly perfect result. The sound was good.

A different story here. The signal was not so strong tonight, but the good periods were also decoded on the Morphy Richards using its telescopic antenna in the living room .

A little bit bumpier here than in Athens, but on the whole good reception. 99% CDA. I also listened to the transmission in the livingroom on the Morphy Richards Discon Radio and using its telescopic antenna, and except for a few dropouts it came through all right (even though the LCD TV was switched on half a meter away). The AC wall adapter mods worked wonders!

I switched the Morphy to Polskie Radio on 3975 kHz and to my surprise I could listen to the last 15 minutes of the transmission almost without interruptions. :)
