Now I receive DRM using a cheap receiver and the simple device on one transistor :)
I used the program Dream 1.6.25 or 1.10.6 for decoding.
You can estimate merits and demerits of such method on sample of receiving DRM signals (Copy sample in MP3 pleyer. Connect it's Earphone output to Sound card of PC or use a microphone as shown on the picture. Start the Dream program. Feel on my place.)

PS.
If You want to repeat this experiment better use a receiver with digital frequency scale.
Simple receivers have a wide IF passband that is necessary for DRM.
I used First FA2305(fhet= 455 or 440kHz) and Hyundai 1613(fhet= 465kHz)

I have some questions on my mail about components of the heterodine scheme.

Instead of the specified transistor can be used BC847, 2SC945 or BC107BP.
Probably it is required to increase value of the resistor R2.

The resistor R1 matters 400 Ohm.
The condenser C2 matters 51 pF

On the left photo You see the variant of submission of the heterodine signal that suits the DRM receiving only on short waves.
The universal way of submission of the signal to the output of the ceramic filter of intermediate frequency of the receiver is on the right photo. This way is resulted higher quality of decoding on SW and MW

I wish You success!
With greetings from Siberia.
