Hi,

BBC World Service are broadcasting from 4th to 24th August from Thailand (Nakhon Sawan) to Beijing.

0600-0900 UTC 21640 kHz
0300-0600 UTC 17840 kHz

The broadcasts will be World Service English with some Olympic specific Journaline content.

regards

Julian

Hmm, well, I can try for the 0300 broadcast from here (west coast US). Something just might trickle over the long path on 17840, but the 21640 no such luck (it's rather dark here).

Hi Julian,
thanks for the information.
Do you think that these tests (http://www.drmrx.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1923) may have originated from the BBC's site in Thailand?

Thanks and best regards,

Well, it's not much, but at least some of it got over this far! :o

Only a very small blip in the log last night, not worth putting up the chart. It was around 0500, so the propagational path seems to be slightly consistent around that time to Asia from here (west coast U.S.).

The signals are coming with-
big fading.

A big spike in the log for an all too brief period. :(

Hi all
sorry I have made other thread.
If pssible plese move my PNG files.
this PNG file ihas recored yesteday.
I had no anttena of 12mB.
my antenna is very poor temporary loop of 33cm.
I guess signal is stronger than-
my location in Tokyo.

This is PNG file on 17840KHZ of today.
The signal came with big fading today too.
put photo of my loop of 1m.

Only one little spike on the log, about 1dB at 0309 UTC last night, nothing else logged.

the signal is not so strong today.

Two signal were weak today on 17840KHZ-
and 21640KHZ.
put photo of 33cm loop for 16m band.

Two small peaks in signal around 0309 again, less than 1dB again. Only signs of any signal on the log.

A good night for me on this one! 22.2 SNR high. 10 minutes of audio over the broadcast. Journaline loaded with some data error however. I could see the broadcast on the waterfall up until it went off air.

Much better than I did up here, but last night was still the best night yet.

hi all
sognal on 21840KHZ was coming with-
good audio today.
But 21640KHZ was very poor today.

Very poor here. I could see the signal on the water fall at 0530, but the signal was so poor it did not even record on my logging program.

hi all
this is log file on 17840KHZ today.
I havd beeen tuning my loop on 17525KHZ-
until 05:00 hrs UTC.
So signal was bit weak until 05 hrs.

than yesterday.

Nothing here last night. Propagation is certainly very irregular, but then I'm asking for something that is nearly impossible. ;)

hi all
not so good today.

Just for a casual listening trial. Because I've moved to new place, not all the equipments are properly aligned yet.

This is the channel profile. Quite long IR, despite of strong signal. Maybe this is due to the window facing direction(north facing)?

hi all
It was last day.
I stoped for few mins at 04:17.
Thanks for testing.

I don't know the test result for the target zone. Here is no quite good:when signal is strong, long IR. Otherwise constant flat fading esp. on 21640kHz.

Maybe the solution is to use SFN or MFN to improve stability,if they don't want to sacrifice service quality.I can make some changes to the Dream source code algorithm to combine bit informations from different channels in order to improve service quality.

Nothing from here for the last three days. I just wish propagation was better!
