A real beginner's question?

What's this (http://www.drmrx.org/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=35893&stc=1&d=1194017960)? I always get this on 1611 kHz and 729 kHz.

Kind regards

It's probably the carrier of a co-channel AM station.

I don't think that you have a co-channel carrier on 1611 khz. I think that this are interferences from the DWT itself or the PC. The DWT has a lot os these interferences an you can see themin weak signals.

I remember listening to 729 without any problems. I can listen to OldieStar 1575 with out these interference.

...Well, image frequencies or mixer byproducts...

....Something like the one in the attached png. The pike is not an AM TX interference, its a RX's faulty mixer byproduct !

I just found out that the "birdie" on 729 and 1611 is actually QRM of my notebook's touchpad...

Have you taken care of it and how ?

Hi John,

well I think the only way to avoid this QRM is using a usual PC mouse in future.
