OK guys, I now have a little bit of time for DRM.

I want to use my FT757 but the thought of pulling out the board so I can get to the back of the 455khz filter dosn't excite me.

So 2 questions...

- Is the output side of the 455khz filter the right way to go ??

- Can I pick this point up from the top of the board ??

Thanks

Max

Hi Max,

i modified my FT757GX not GXII with success. I donot know really the difference between GX and GXII. However i did it the following way:

Possibility 1:
Get the 455 kHz-Signal at the input of the AM-Filter using a low pass filter. According to the the schema (GX!) it is D54/D56/T13. Just use a LC-Filter (470µH, 33pF)
Disadvantage : No IF Filter -> Problem with strong adjacent channel signals

Possibility 2:
Get the 455 kHz-Signal at the output of the AM-Filter. A detailed description of this mod i got from the internet, however donot remember the URL.
Disadvantage: AM filter is a little bit too small for DRM
Advantage: Very good adjacent channel discrimination.

With both solution i feed a SAT Schneider module (Max SNR i got was 40 dB).

I hope this info is helpful, perhaps also for others.
