Well, I wasn't here to listen or see what was being recorded. It wasn't very good, at least looking at the charted data. Sackville on 6 megs should have been much better here than this. I'll be able to "live" for the next one on 31 October, so I can see what is going on from an analog perspective with the old Mark One ears.

Brendan1
01-11-2006, 02:16
The conditions of the other night must have been only temporary. This is much better, but still shows some signs of difficult propagation. With this lower speed, the audio is noticeably lower quality than other Sackville broadcasts. Some AM interference 10 kHz higher was affecting the last few minutes.

Brendan1
02-11-2006, 02:12
Best log yet so far. Audio bandwidth is just over 10 kHz, still better than analog.:p

Not great, but got the bulk of the program. Audio seemed distorted at input just a bit. I realize it was compressed due to bitrate too, but sometimes it seems that CBC has audio trouble. I have noted it on numerous programs in the last day or so.

Brendan1
04-11-2006, 02:05
This is getting boring. There is no drama in near-perfect reception. ;) It seems like I am in the middle of a very DRM friendly zone at the moment. All five logs today (five different freqs and times) are superb.

Looks like Brendan is getting spoiled with good copy. It is cool to actually have a CHOICE of things to tune in to sometimes, huh?

Good audio today except for an odd whistle that came in toward the end. May have been my gear. Unknown.

Very good here - had chores to do and didn't get a chance to turn off the logging/radio for a while after the transmission ended.

Propagation is definitely off from the last several days: not so flat tonight. I know the service label on the graph is wrong: Dream was definitely showing "CRI" and all that, but the graph says TDP, no idea why.

I tried a several nights, but never got audio decoding.

I logged on late. A lot of co-channel and adjacent channel interference.

Brendan, the service label on the graph probably changed after you started your logging.

Brendan, the service label on the graph probably changed after you started your logging.

Yeah, that was probably it, Zyg. I had been checking other possible freqs for a few moments before, but this kind of threw me. When TDP started up on 9790, I heard a few bars of Radio Sweden's interval signal (but no service label), then suddenly over to TDP's music and their service label. It is Sackville, after all (all in good humor!). :o

Brendan1
06-11-2006, 02:07
Not so good tonight - lots of propagational issues by the look of the graph. Given the lower datarate, it was still audible in spite of the changes.

06-11-2006, 15:01
Starts to drop off and gets unlistenable.

Brendan1
07-11-2006, 02:02
The ionosphere appears to have stabilized - this was definitely better than yesterday.

Brendan1
08-11-2006, 02:04
A large hit late in the broadcast but it did recover before the end.

Brendan1
09-11-2006, 02:01
Propagation seems to be wavering tonight, and the SNR shows it.

Brendan1
10-11-2006, 02:27
Better conditions tonight.

Brendan1
11-11-2006, 02:04
This broadcast has pretty much settled down into pretty good reception most each night. Still, some propagational issues can be seen by the wavering of the SNR on the log.

Brendan1
12-11-2006, 02:00
Tonight was CRI's turn to take a propagational hit. Just when things seem steady, a big hit like the one at 0139Z ensures chaos.

Brendan1
13-11-2006, 02:19
Another just-okay log. My excellent DRM zone has fled far away for now, no more flat data lines.

Brendan1
14-11-2006, 02:05
Not a very good broadcast: good start, terrible finish. Conditions are quite unsettled.

Brendan1
16-11-2006, 02:09
Recovering some overall quality, but a not very good finish tonight.

Brendan1
18-11-2006, 02:07
Pretty good tonight, not a lot of bad dips in the signal.

Alan Johnson
18-11-2006, 02:09
Overall, very good.

Brendan1
19-11-2006, 02:00
Not bad tonight, although things seem to be taking a bad hit at the end.

Alan Johnson
20-11-2006, 02:02
Although there were some audible drop-outs, the transmission sounded better than the graph indicates.

Brendan1
20-11-2006, 02:10
Conditions for me were definitely better today.

Brendan1
21-11-2006, 02:01
A good log tonight - only some small dips.

Brendan1
22-11-2006, 02:00
Okay, this looks much than it should. After the marker, my computer was having a fit when I wasn't watching, and the CPU was overloading, causing the big dips. Before that, I don't know...

Brendan1
23-11-2006, 02:03
Last log for today. Not all that shabby either.

Brendan1
24-11-2006, 05:20
Better reception each evening, conditions are definitely getting better.

Alan Johnson
27-11-2006, 02:13
The transmission held up well tonight although I got a late start.

28-11-2006, 01:49
I caught the CRI transmission on 6080 tonight. I had almost 30 straight minutes of excellent audio without drop outs.

Brendan1
28-11-2006, 02:25
Well, here's my log for tonight. Not all that bad, but there was a considerable amount of visible fluctuation in the waveform.

Brendan1
29-11-2006, 02:01
Pretty good log tonight - only minor blips, no major problems.

tral
29-11-2006, 05:25
Here is my report for November 29. The Sackville signal sounded strong, but there was quite a bit of interference from 6090kHz which trashed the CRI signal. Rx overload?

6090 0000-1000 Anguilla World University Network

This seems to be what was causing the interference.

Brendan1
30-11-2006, 02:08
Not bad tonight, but the band was getting squirrelly towards the end, which the graph doesn't really show.

AF4MP
01-12-2006, 02:21
This evening's 6080 kHz transmission.

Propagation killed the signal towards the end; so much so that I could hear (on the receiver speaker) various analog stations coming through over the DRM hash during the last few minutes.

Brendan1
02-12-2006, 02:02
Propagation got this broadcast tonight. Lots of disturbances on most freqs today, and 6 megs was no exception.

Alan Johnson
02-12-2006, 02:02
There was no useful signal until I switched to a different antenna.

AF4MP
02-12-2006, 02:20
This evening's 6080 kHz reception report.

An interesting program.

The first half hour dealt with AIDS in China, and the second half with the 65th anniversary of shortwave broadcasting from China. The last part of the program started to talk about Buddhism in China, but the transmission deteriorated (due to propagation) and the content unfortunately got lost in the ether!

Dec 6 report. I put my radio in USB mode and got a better signal. I don't know why that made a difference. But if it works..

Brendan1
07-12-2006, 02:02
Some rather serious deterioration on this frequency tonight.

Brendan1
08-12-2006, 02:07
Best log in several days - conditions have improved.

Brendan1
09-12-2006, 02:03
Boy, I say something good, and then something bad happens instead. A very disappointing log.

Brendan1
10-12-2006, 03:59
Hmmm, all over the place tonight, mostly negative.

Brendan1
12-12-2006, 02:02
Even 49 meters is having problems and I'm only 4200 km away from the transmitter! :(

Brendan1
13-12-2006, 02:09
A very quick, early shutdown to the band tonight.

Brendan1
14-12-2006, 02:02
A very slow start followed by a good middle segment, with a quick exit from the band bringing up the rear. How else to describe tonight's log?

Brendan1
19-12-2006, 02:01
First CRI log in several days - they've not been on from Sackville... Highly variable log, looks the band is shifting quite a bit.

Brendan1
20-12-2006, 02:30
Not a single broadcast did very well today and CRI suffered quite a bit. I can only assume that solar propagation conditions are to blame. :(

Brendan1
21-12-2006, 02:00
Pretty rough tonight.

Brendan1
22-12-2006, 02:08
Still rough receiving. Not a very good situation.

Last log for two weeks. Going out of town for the holidays, and have to leave the gear behind. :D

Not 100% today, but very, very close. Conditions have improved since my holiday break began and ended. :)

Brendan1
10-01-2007, 05:13
Almost forgot to post tonight's log! Not bad all told.

Brendan1
11-01-2007, 02:25
Not very good today, and I have no idea why reception was so bad. The speed was at 20.88 kpbs, and the SDC was showing Vatican Radio and RNW at different times. The audio was CRI though, so something was set-up correctly...

Brendan1
12-01-2007, 02:18
Everything is back to normal here, no SDC problems or datarate issues tonight.

Alan Johnson
14-01-2007, 02:18
Excellent, but not 100%.

Brendan1
18-01-2007, 02:02
Well, this actually makes my day! I can live with 99.98%. Possibly this is my best CRI log ever. 49 meters is definitely working well tonight.

Brendan1
19-01-2007, 02:02
Another quite good log tonight. No major problems seen, especially since it was 99.06%!

Brendan1
20-01-2007, 02:02
Some very obvious band deterioration tonight: normally the graph is fairly flat, but the decline in the last 15 minutes or so is quite noticeable.

Brendan1
21-01-2007, 02:02
Quite good tonight, no band dropouts.

Brendan1
22-01-2007, 03:32
Some ups, some downs. Pretty normal.

Brendan1
23-01-2007, 03:52
Just about every lower band was disturbed today, and 49 meters was no exception.

Brendan1
24-01-2007, 02:01
Very straightforward today: as usual, with the lower datarate, the log shows over 97% despite the variable signal and decode rates.

Brendan1
25-01-2007, 02:01
Only 99.24% today. Even 6 megs/49 meters shows some disturbances today.

Brendan1
26-01-2007, 02:02
Still somewhat uneven reception tonight, and the overall CDA is only 97.70%.

Brendan1
27-01-2007, 02:01
A very respectable log tonight. Conditions on 49 meters are excellent tonight. My best log for CRI in weeks.

Alan Johnson
29-01-2007, 01:59
Very good for the first 40 minutes.

Alan

Brendan1
29-01-2007, 02:02
99.99% CDA tonight. All of the bands seem much better tonight. Something didn't work well, so the transmitter site data is missing, and the frequency too.

Brendan1
30-01-2007, 02:03
Okay, so it's only 99.98% CDA tonight. No one would argue with success, right?
:)

Brendan1
31-01-2007, 02:20
Only some minor ionospheric disturbances tonight.

Brendan1
01-02-2007, 02:34
Quite good tonight, no propagational problems.

Alan Johnson
03-02-2007, 01:45
Not good at all.

Alan

Brendan1
03-02-2007, 02:04
I agree: not good. Worst reception of this broadcast in weeks, if not months.

Brendan1
05-02-2007, 02:16
Five of six broadcasts logged today were pretty messy and less than normal. The 49 meter band is no exception tonight. :(

Brendan1
07-02-2007, 02:02
Sorry for missing the log yesterday: Dream crashed, and so I had no log to post. Today, however, everything went much better: nearly 100% CDA. A very good log.

Brendan1
08-02-2007, 02:08
Another good day, another good log.

Brendan1
09-02-2007, 02:01
The 49 meter band has gotten very good of late. This broadcast is remaining quite steady and reliable over the last several weeks, with only the occasional bad day to mar overall reception.

Today? Another excellent log: 99.94% CDA.

Brendan1
10-02-2007, 02:44
I have to stop putting a curse on broadcasts: just when I think it will be good and say so in writing, it isn't. I expected this broadcast to be over 90% CDA today, but it is far from it at 72%.

First time in quite some time this broadcast has been this bad.

Alan Johnson
11-02-2007, 02:24
It sounded better than it looks on the graph.

Alan Johnson
12-02-2007, 15:36
Again, the graph doesn't do justice to the actual transmission.

Brendan1
13-02-2007, 02:00
Only 99.99% tonight, something must be wrong...

Brendan1
14-02-2007, 02:01
My only log of six that reached 100% today. Not bad... :)

Brendan1
16-02-2007, 02:04
One hundred percent again today. :D

Brendan1
17-02-2007, 02:01
Tonight's broadcast: not 100%, but very good nevertheless.

Brendan1
18-02-2007, 02:01
Still good.

Alan Johnson
18-02-2007, 02:02
Poor SNR at first with the dipole, improved by switching to the T2FD, then at about 0145 UTC, Winradio surprised me with an "exception error".

Brendan1
19-02-2007, 02:16
Quite good tonight - save for the dip around minute :47!

Alan Johnson
19-02-2007, 02:16
Winradio didn't hiccup today, so I was able to listen for the full hour. The dip is where I switched to the dipole, because I was hearing audio dropouts which didn't show on the graph.

Brendan1
20-02-2007, 02:01
No real problems today. Things were looking up on most every band.

Alan Johnson
20-02-2007, 02:01
Not perfect, but not bad.

Brendan1
21-02-2007, 12:23
Forgot to post this log last night! Not too bad a log either.

Brendan1
22-02-2007, 02:57
Tonights' log: not bad, again.

Brendan1
23-02-2007, 02:06
Another good log. 49 meters is doing well right now, at least for North America.

Alan Johnson
24-02-2007, 02:15
Rough start - things smoothed out when I switched to the mini-Beverage (or else propagation just improved). Ended early when my wife shut off the computer after checking her E-mail. Also, I'm not sure how the receiver got tuned to 6,079 kHz.

Brendan1
25-02-2007, 02:05
Very nice log tonight.

Alan Johnson
25-02-2007, 17:59
Could only listen for seven minutes - had to leave for an engagement. Wonder if the entire hour would have been as good?

Brendan1
26-02-2007, 02:00
100% tonight, conditions are excellent!

Alan Johnson
26-02-2007, 02:05
My results were not as good as Brendan's, but not too far behind.

Brendan1
27-02-2007, 02:00
Awesome conditions today: highest dB level in some time, and 100% reception.

Brendan1
28-02-2007, 02:03
Not a perfect log, but it works for me!

Brendan1
01-03-2007, 02:01
"Near" perfection continues, only 99.99% tonight. We can't have everything...

Brendan1
02-03-2007, 02:10
Disturbed reception conditions on every band but 17 MegaHertz today, and 6 MegaHertz was no exception.

Alan Johnson
03-03-2007, 02:19
Very good reception today.

Brendan1
03-03-2007, 17:07
No arguing with 100%.

Brendan1
04-03-2007, 02:02
Best log of the day: 100% again. :D

Alan Johnson
04-03-2007, 15:11
Late entry - not good at first, I must have switched antennas at 0115.

Brendan1
05-03-2007, 02:02
Best log today - looks like 49 meters is getting better later. Longer days can do that.

Brendan1
06-03-2007, 02:03
Another stellar log. :)

Brendan1
09-03-2007, 02:01
Excellent conditions equal an excellent log.

Brendan1
10-03-2007, 02:15
Currently, this is one of the best transmissions for my QTH: reliable and excellent signal strength.

Brendan1
13-03-2007, 02:01
Another great log tonight. CRI and CBC continue to provide good coverage for the continent.

Brendan1
14-03-2007, 02:02
99.99% CDA tonight, no big problems, only a good broadcast!

Brendan1
15-03-2007, 02:27
49 meters continues to behave very well. :)

Alan Johnson
16-03-2007, 02:12
A little rough today - perhaps the later sunset due to DST is affecting 49 meters.

Brendan1
16-03-2007, 02:28
Interesting what difference there is in locations only a few hundred miles apart, Reno vs. Tucson.

Alan Johnson
17-03-2007, 01:58
Better results today with a different antenna.

Brendan1
17-03-2007, 02:06
Alan, you're getting closer! My antenna is a very modest active dipole, measuring only about 9' across. I don't have any alternatives: a duplex with no real trees or yard, which leaves me with very little real estate to play with.

Nice to get 100% CDA again. :)

Brendan1
18-03-2007, 04:50
Well, the frames took a big hit. Only 98.88% tonight. :(

Alan Johnson
19-03-2007, 01:51
Excellent, except that the newly downloaded 1.8.3 version of Dream dies after about 40 minutes.

Brendan1
19-03-2007, 04:00
Well, I'm not running Dream 1.8.xx. Haven't heard enough good about it to change yet, and now I'm going to hold off until I do hear something positive.

Not bad - 100% again.

Brendan1
20-03-2007, 02:00
Oh so close to 100%, but not quite. :)

Brendan1
21-03-2007, 02:09
Very good tonight, just some small glitches to spoil the CDA!

Brendan1
22-03-2007, 02:01
Tonight's log: quite good as usual. A couple of minor blips in the data...

Brendan1
23-03-2007, 02:00
A very decent log considering the thunder/lightning/rain moving through the area.

Brendan1
24-03-2007, 01:42
A short but very good log tonight.

Brendan1
25-03-2007, 02:07
Full length log tonight, very good results as usual.

27-03-2007, 01:06

Alan Johnson
05-11-2007, 01:58
Fairly steady today, certainly very listenable.

Brendan1
05-11-2007, 02:09
Here's my effort for today. Pretty darn good for one of my logs of late. A lot of flutter, and the IR was quite wide and working hard.

Brendan1
06-11-2007, 02:54
Pretty good reception tonight. 49 meters isn't doing too badly right now.

Brendan1
07-11-2007, 02:36
Well, I was hoping this transmission would get better, but tonight's propagation didn't appear to help. I hope RNW on 6130 does better in a couple of hours.

Brendan1
08-11-2007, 03:17
Much better tonight than last night's log, but the band still dropped out after a while.

KB7GF
08-11-2007, 05:26
Hi Everyone,

Due to the phase noise problem on the R71a below 8 MHz, I added a 10.7 MHz tap to the PCR-100, but haven't finished the converter yet. Instead, I ran the tap into the input of the R71a tuned to 10.7 MHz. A bit cumbersome, but OK for a temporary setup.

The signal started pretty strong but then dropped off - just like Brendan's graph.

It's nice to be able to log again below 8 Mhz.

73,

Mark

P.S. Too bad the 6130 feed was analog instead of DRM tonight :(

Brendan1
09-11-2007, 03:15
Better reception tonight, some blips, and not 100%, but really, really close.

This broadcast did much better tonight, and the log shows it: nearly 100%!

Hi Everyone,

Here is a log from last night. Signal took a significant dive in the second half.

73,

Mark

Brendan1
17-11-2007, 02:39
I got nearly the same results here: a fast drop-off to the signal and the broadcast but earlier.

Alan Johnson
18-11-2007, 01:59
I didn't get good results until I switched to the mini-Beverage at 0108. The dips after that were due to switching user accounts on the computer.

Brendan1
18-11-2007, 02:49
Fairly disrupted broadcast today, and not a lot of "uptime" as a result.

KB7GF
18-11-2007, 05:22
Hi Everyone,

A little rough here also. The log on the 17th was unattended. Tonight I was here and noticed that there was another station coming through quite strong on 6075. I found that I was able to mitigate the interference somewhat by tilting the loop off the vertical axis by about 45 degrees.

73,

Another broadcast down the tubes today.

20-11-2007, 04:43
Hi Everyone,

Yes, this broadcast is struggling here currently. It seems to start out reasonably strong, but drops out toward the end.

73,

Mark

Brendan1
20-11-2007, 17:19
Same results here: good start, bad finish.

Brendan1
21-11-2007, 03:33
Two words: solar storm. Ergo, no reception tonight.

KB7GF
21-11-2007, 15:14
Hi Everyone,

No luck here either.

73,

Mark

Brendan1
22-11-2007, 17:45
Pretty mediocre last night, no, very mediocre.

Brendan1
23-11-2007, 06:36
Bad. Enough said.

Alan Johnson
24-11-2007, 19:48
Better tonight.

Alan Johnson
25-11-2007, 02:08
It would appear that the propagation gods are not smiling.

Brendan1
25-11-2007, 17:26
I agree, nothing good here either. Two logs, one from the 24th as well as last night. Just getting lazy in my old age...

Brendan1
27-11-2007, 17:34
Definitely not very good reception last night.

Brendan1
28-11-2007, 02:26
Only the slightest bit of improvement tonight, comparatively speaking.

Brendan1
29-11-2007, 03:12
I'm getting pretty tired of having to post essentially nothing, it's very depressing!

Brendan1
30-11-2007, 02:39
Not much to report, but at least I have some data to show for the hour.

Brendan1
01-12-2007, 03:14
Some data was logged, however nothing was "heard."

Brendan1
02-12-2007, 19:41
More data than has been the usual case lately in this particular log. Still no decoding... :(

Brendan1
03-12-2007, 03:45
Some improvement today, enough so that the log does not look too bad.

Brendan1
04-12-2007, 02:38
I've got data for virtually the entire hour tonight, but still not 'loud' enough for any decoding.

Brendan1
05-12-2007, 02:48
Same data, two different analyzers. Either way, this was the best reception in several weeks for CRI.

Brendan1
06-12-2007, 03:06
Another poor evening for listening, but there was still data to be gathered! :o

Brendan1
07-12-2007, 02:52
Better tonight, but still showing a fair drop in SNR towards the end.

Brendan1
08-12-2007, 02:36
Pretty miserable reception tonight, far down from the last couple of days.

Alan Johnson
10-12-2007, 01:50
At least something today, until Dream quit.

Brendan1
10-12-2007, 02:57
Once again location played a big part in the difference between Alan's and my logs: near perfect, except for the last few minutes. Best log for CRI at my location in weeks.

Brendan1
11-12-2007, 02:36
Fantastic log that owes quite a bit to the Solar Flux Index of 89 today. Best log in months.

KB7GF
11-12-2007, 05:58
Hi Everyone,

Yes, conditions are certainly improving:)

73,

Mark

Brendan1
12-12-2007, 17:45
Back to the doldrums. I hope this is only temporary.

Brendan1
13-12-2007, 02:26
About like yesterday: most of the broadcast was audible, but it closed down early.

Brendan1
14-12-2007, 21:02
Very cyclic last night: not a lot of good steady propagation obviously.

Brendan1
15-12-2007, 03:56
Back to poor conditions.

Brendan1
16-12-2007, 02:39
No real improvement tonight.

Brendan1
17-12-2007, 03:51
Still very marginal reception for this time of the evening.

Brendan1
18-12-2007, 03:08
Even worse tonight than last night.

Brendan1
19-12-2007, 03:09
Very poor conditions tonight, no real reception here.

Brendan1
20-12-2007, 02:40
Definite improvement tonight, with a good portion of the broadcast listenable.

Brendan1
21-12-2007, 17:20
Early evening 49 meter transmissions simply don't make it this far west.

Brendan1
22-12-2007, 03:09
The lack of good propagation in this time slot continued tonight.

Brendan1
23-12-2007, 02:22
I would still like some propagation, any day now would help a lot. :(

AF4MP
24-12-2007, 02:31
Co-channel interference caused problems. Signal improved towards the end. Interesting reporting of stolen lottery tickets!

-Zyg-

Brendan1
24-12-2007, 02:54
My log shows some gain in the signal strength tonight, but nowhere near enough for decoding.

Brendan1
25-12-2007, 03:10
Somewhat worse than last night for signal strength: back to 'normal.' :(

Brendan1
26-12-2007, 02:11
Not much of a log to look at I'm afraid, as the signal just wasn't there very long.

Brendan1
27-12-2007, 03:47
Still not doing very well I'm afraid.

Brendan1
28-12-2007, 03:10
About the same conditions as last night's broadcast I'm afraid to say.

Brendan1
29-12-2007, 03:18
I would say there is actually some improvement showing, as the overall data points of this log are higher than the previous couple of weeks combined. I am primarily noting the increased SNR level here, not the rate of decoding!

Alan Johnson
30-12-2007, 01:58
Hardly worth logging.

Brendan1
30-12-2007, 02:18
Hmmm, while it took longer for me to get a good signal, I had it for longer than you did Alan. It did drop off about ten minutes earlier though.

Brendan1
31-12-2007, 02:06
Only a very brief period of any signal today, but no joy on the decoding end.

Brendan1
03-01-2008, 17:03
Very 'variable' reception last night, not much good for listening I'm afraid. The 31st was not even that good.

Brendan1
04-01-2008, 02:40
Some improvement here, definitely. Solar indices are up today, so that may be why. (79SF, 1A, 0K @ 0000Z)

Brendan1
05-01-2008, 19:38
A definite good period here in the log, but somewhat short in duration.

AF4MP
06-01-2008, 02:17
Not very good this evening. Still learning how to use the Ten-Tec RX-320D. This is an automatic logging using the DRM logger.

-Zyg-

AF4MP
07-01-2008, 02:58
Signal better than last night. Interesting that the graph has recorded the highest SNR (23dB) to date with the new RX-320D. More interesting is that my RX antenna tuner (MFJ-956) was not switched to the correct band.

Looks like I might need an RF attenuator!

-Zyg-

Brendan1
11-01-2008, 16:58
Very poor log - virtually no signal was received.

Brendan1
13-01-2008, 02:37
This log is as bad as it gets - nearly zero data logged for the hour.

AF4MP
13-01-2008, 02:51
No signal for the first half of the transmission, conditions improved towards the end.

The Ten-tec RX-320D was being used and not the R-1000 as incorrectly shown on the graphical plot.

-Zyg-

AF4MP
14-01-2008, 02:49
This evening's 6080KHz reception report. The conditions died towards the end. Too bad as I was listening to an interesting story about a kidnapping and wasn't able to hear the end.

Brendan1
14-01-2008, 16:58
Fairly bad log yet again, although there is more signal appearing on the log than previous days.

AF4MP
15-01-2008, 02:37
This evening's 6080 KHz reception report. Poor.

-Zyg-

Brendan1
15-01-2008, 03:18
Not heard here in Washington, with only some spikes to the SNR.

AF4MP
16-01-2008, 02:16
This evening's (16 Jan) 6080 KHz reception report.

Brendan1
16-01-2008, 16:58
The SNR is down to mere squiggles on the graph - not much joy out here I'm afraid to say. :(

Brendan1
17-01-2008, 03:09
Bigger squiggles tonight: a definite improvement, in that there was loggable signal the entire hour. Not much on the decoding end though, but hey, everything takes time.

Brendan1
18-01-2008, 03:12
Back to blah. :(

AF4MP
18-01-2008, 03:22
Not good here too!

19-01-2008, 02:21
This evening's 6080kHz unattended reception report.

Brendan1
19-01-2008, 18:10
More than I got...

Brendan1
20-01-2008, 06:27
Not enough signal to get worked up about.

AF4MP
20-01-2008, 15:03
Last night's 6080kHz unattended reception report.

Brendan1
21-01-2008, 03:30
No improvement for me I'm afraid to say.

AF4MP
22-01-2008, 03:50
This evening's 6080kHz unattended reception report.

Brendan1
22-01-2008, 06:35
Some slight improvement over the previous few days, but no real change in listening quality.

AF4MP
23-01-2008, 02:32
This evening's 6080kHz reception report. SNR is climbing, but the audio frames are not keeping up!

-Zyg-

Brendan1
23-01-2008, 02:39
I'm with you, Zyg: improving SNR here but not enough decoded frames to do any good. Very cyclic.

Brendan1
25-01-2008, 02:59
Still not very good.

Brendan1
26-01-2008, 03:33
A somewhat encouraging log tonight, it would seem that there was some propagation. They should start either a half-hour earlier or later: that way the bad gap in the middle might be avoided.

Hi Everyone,

Conditions were quite good tonight here in E. Washington. Only one small dropout.

73,

Last night's 6080kHz unattended reception report. Poor.

-Zyg-

Brendan1
27-01-2008, 03:26
Bottom of the cycle right now - today is the 17th consecutive day of no sunspots I believe, so theoretically band conditions can't get any worse than this.

And, no, this wasn't all that bad actually, I've logged worse for CRI.

Brendan1
28-01-2008, 02:10
Fantastic conditions tonight! Best log for CRI for me at this location. I'm impressed with how the log looks.

AF4MP
28-01-2008, 02:45
This evening's 6080kHz reception report. Disappointing. Looks like the signal favored Brendan and the US west coast.

-Zyg-

Brendan1
29-01-2008, 02:33
Well, I was definitely not favored today.

AF4MP
29-01-2008, 14:38

Nothing much to show for today's log!

Brendan1
31-01-2008, 02:37
Just throwing a monkey wrench into my weeks of little to no reception: today's log shows a CDA of around 46%. What happened?

Brendan1
01-02-2008, 02:42
Not so good (again) tonight.

Brendan1
02-02-2008, 02:42
Extremely poor tonight.

Brendan1
03-02-2008, 02:14
About the same as last night.

Brendan1
04-02-2008, 03:15
Only the slightest of improvement over the last two days.

Brendan1
05-02-2008, 02:53
Getting better once again. If this keeps up, I'll be able to have a good solid piece of the broadcast soon.
