Last night's prediction came true: very good reception tonight, the first good hour in many weeks.

Brendan1
07-02-2008, 17:17
Continued good reception last night.

Brendan1
08-02-2008, 02:12
Nearly perfect tonight!

Brendan1
09-02-2008, 02:50
Well, it wasn't perfect, in fact there are rather a lot of blips tonight.

Alan Johnson
10-02-2008, 02:09
Preety good here - a bit of a late start, as I forgot to retune the receiver!:o

Brendan1
10-02-2008, 06:29
Nice and steady tonight.

Brendan1
11-02-2008, 02:31
Terrible log tonight - worst one this week, if not the last two weeks.

Brendan1
12-02-2008, 16:44
Still doing very poorly.

Brendan1
14-02-2008, 02:56
Another terrible log.

Brendan1
15-02-2008, 02:21
A nice 180 degree change from last night: near perfect!

Brendan1
16-02-2008, 02:48
Not so good, once again.

Brendan1
17-02-2008, 02:02
Odd night: not bad, not great. Started out good, but went downhill after about 30 minutes.

Alan Johnson
18-02-2008, 02:07
Pretty good day for Sackville DRM today.

Brendan1
18-02-2008, 02:12
Gotta agree, Sackville lucked out today. Good conditions for virtually all my logs today.

Brendan1
19-02-2008, 00:07
Nice steady improvement in conditions right now. Each day seems to get better...

Brendan1
20-02-2008, 03:11
Not bad tonight, although I don't what the big notch at minute :03 is all about.

Brendan1
21-02-2008, 02:34
Pretty good log tonight.

Alan Johnson
21-02-2008, 03:30
Pretty good today.

Brendan1
22-02-2008, 02:44
Very nice tonight.

Brendan1
23-02-2008, 02:06
Nice log again.

AF4MP
25-02-2008, 02:37
This evening's 6080 kHz reception report. The three audio blips are my fault.

Brendan1
25-02-2008, 21:42
A great log last night.

Brendan1
26-02-2008, 02:59
Another pretty good log, but with a short rough patch towards the end.

Brendan1
27-02-2008, 03:45
Nice and smooth tonight.

Brendan1
29-02-2008, 02:41
Nothing to brag about tonight.

Brendan1
01-03-2008, 03:43
Yeeeesh, what a bad log! Mr. Sun was very bad today.

Alan Johnson
02-03-2008, 02:17
Also very erratic today, but things improved as sunset approached.

Brendan1
02-03-2008, 03:51
The solar drought continues: really, really bad conditions tonight.

Brendan1
03-03-2008, 02:02
Some slight improvement, but no decoding...

Alan Johnson
03-03-2008, 02:17
Better here, but irregular.

Brendan1
04-03-2008, 02:52
Considering what the log looked like two days ago, I think this is pretty good.

Brendan1
05-03-2008, 02:25
An excellent log tonight.

Brendan1
10-03-2008, 02:06
Extremely poor propagation today.

Brendan1
11-03-2008, 02:26
A repeat of yesterday evenings' log. :(

Brendan1
12-03-2008, 18:20
Well, CBC Sackville had some problems yesterday. The SDC was still showing this broadcast as TDP (it was showing this all day on 9800), and was transmitting at 20.96kbps as well, not the 14.46kbps. Needless to say, the log was not so good.

Brendan1
13-03-2008, 18:31
Ouch! Not much of a signal here.

Brendan1
14-03-2008, 02:27
A nice improvement when compared to the last several days.

Brendan1
15-03-2008, 02:11
I would love to have some ionospheric stability sometime soon. :o

Alan Johnson
17-03-2008, 03:17
Good tonight - I need to find out what is occurring with an eight minute periodicity.

Brendan1
17-03-2008, 05:21
Yes indeed, a great night, although I think Alan's every eight minute blips are very local.

Brendan1
18-03-2008, 02:10
Very nice conditions for the early evening out here.

Brendan1
19-03-2008, 16:03
Continued excellent conditions here.

Brendan1
20-03-2008, 16:03
Not very good at all last night.

Alan Johnson
22-03-2008, 03:35
Not too bad - what is causing those dips?

Alan Johnson
23-03-2008, 02:02
Nice graph today - only one dip!

KB7GF
23-03-2008, 14:51
Alan,

I see the same dip at 43 minutes on my chart, so definitely not local.

73,

Mark

maxpower
23-03-2008, 16:06
Not too bad - what is causing those dips?

At my place its probably the heating system from the house which causes dips everytime it shuts down for a while. In Winter time every 4-8 Minutes. Nevada is "a little bit" warmer than germany but maybe its the air conditioning or something like that?

Another reason could be the version of dream. Some older versions had problems with some soundcards which have been solved (as far as i know?!)

Stephan

Alan Johnson
24-03-2008, 03:26
Pretty good, but the dips are back!

KB7GF
25-03-2008, 14:42
Hi Everyone,

It looks like the transmitter quite at about 35 minutes past the hour.

73,

Mark

Brendan1
26-03-2008, 16:03
Hi all, sorry to be so quiet lately, but as Mark/KB7GF will tell you, I've been testing his antenna for the last few days, as well as repairing it after a windstorm. :(

Sackville has produced dips before, it's something in their transmitter. I've seen RNZI do that also, in the past, and there is something peculiar about the whole thing, might even be a content server issue.

That being said, I had no dips on my log last night.

KB7GF
27-03-2008, 14:37
Hi Everyone,

Signals were solid here on the 26th, but very poor last night (27th).

73,

Mark

Brendan1
27-03-2008, 16:01
Same here - lots of propagation problems yesterday afternoon.

Brendan1
28-03-2008, 03:07
Haven't had a log this bad in quite a while.

KB7GF
28-03-2008, 05:24
Hi Everyone,

Very rough here also. Other analog signals, though, were coming in strong. We did have some additional convective noise on the band, and the signal was relatively weak (< s-9), so the SNR suffered.

73,

Mark

Brendan1
29-03-2008, 16:34
Terrible yesterday.

Brendan1
30-03-2008, 03:03
Not-so-terrible today.

Brendan1
09-01-2009, 02:49
They'rrrre back! Just found CRI tonight on 6080, they've probably been there for a while but they aren't listed on the DRM schedules.

Good reception, with somewhat rapid fading as can be seen from the graph.

One of the hits (I can't remember which) was the result of my changing a setting in Dream. :o

Brendan1
10-01-2009, 02:44
CRI appears to be on a Monday to Friday schedule, GMT/UTC that is. Nothing tonight: the evening of the 9th here, the morning of the 10th in UTC land.

Brendan1
12-01-2009, 14:03
Very poor propagation last night, reception was difficult. :(

Brendan1
15-01-2009, 02:04
I wasn't even sure CRI was on last night, and tonight's broadcast was little better. Propagation seems to be putting me in the skip zone. Or worse, a black hole of non-reception.

Brendan1
16-01-2009, 01:57
Solar flux index is 71, A index is 7, and K index is 2.

Much better reception tonight, although it was all too short in duration. Are we starting to see the solar cycle get out of the bottom? :)

Brendan1
17-01-2009, 02:39
Not one milliwatt of CRI tonight. Nothing on the waterfall whatsoever.

Brendan1
22-01-2009, 02:17
Was able to receive CRI tonight. Not very good, but they were on air. Nothing last night by the way, again there was no signal whatsoever. AND, I got started late, sorry!

Alan Johnson
25-01-2009, 02:03
Very solid tonight!

Brendan1
26-01-2009, 01:46
Only a small bit of RF into my setup tonight. Just a minimal amount of logging as a result.

Brendan1
27-01-2009, 02:12
Very sparse again tonight, not much success I'm afraid.

Brendan1
28-01-2009, 02:03
A nice log tonight: the high A index of 12 seems to have helped.

Brendan1
31-01-2009, 02:04
A very nice log tonight! I just wish the band and/or changing conditions hadn't caused such a big dropout.

Solar indices are at this moment: SF 69, A3, and K2.

Brendan1
03-02-2009, 02:43
The broadcast started really well, but not much signal made it here tonight: conditions just don't seem to be going my way.

Brendan1
04-02-2009, 02:12
Very nice conditions tonight, the log is quite good.

Brendan1
05-02-2009, 03:28
Very unsteady tonight - the band was not all that good.

Brendan1
06-02-2009, 02:12
An excellent log tonight - propagation conditions were quite good. The big drop in the SNR at 0130 was the transmitter going off-air briefly.

Brendan1
12-02-2009, 16:51
Had some QRM on my inside loop, hopefully it will be gone when I get the outside antenna hooked up today. Otherwise I think it would have been pretty good. Now back home at the permanent QTH on the west coast, I'm happy to say. :D

Brendan1
13-02-2009, 17:33
An excellent log, although I have no idea what caused the various dips as I was auto-logging this transmission. Outside antenna now, but it's lying on the ground and not pointing the right way.

Brendan1
14-02-2009, 02:43
Some band instability, but very good otherwise.

Brendan1
15-02-2009, 02:16
Not very good results tonight, and it was the same on my other logs today. :(

SFI is 70, A index is 18, and K index is 3 @ 0000UTC 15 Feb 09.

Brendan1
16-02-2009, 02:11
Not very good tonight. SF:70, A:10, and K:2 at 0000 UTC.

Brendan1
17-02-2009, 02:35
Somewhat better tonight; SF is 70, A is 3, and K is 1. The A & K levels are down thankfully, so that may be the reason reception was better.

Brendan1
19-02-2009, 00:10
Forgot to post this earlier! A very nice log last night. :)

Brendan1
19-02-2009, 03:38
A great log tonight, very good numbers.

Brendan1
20-02-2009, 02:20
Haven't had a log this close to perfection in quite some time. :D

Brendan1
21-02-2009, 03:08
Not so nearly-perfect tonight. Propagation is a little more active: SFI:69, A:3, and K:3. The A and K are higher tonight.

Brendan1
22-02-2009, 02:29
Much better tonight, albeit with some hits. Still, 91% is pretty good. :)

Brendan1
23-02-2009, 17:05
Wonderful reception last night! Very steady conditions on 49 meters. It's hard to beat 99.82% decoding. :)

Brendan1
24-02-2009, 02:35
Well, I beat last night's percentage: 99.91% decoding tonight! :D

Brendan1
25-02-2009, 03:22
The A index is higher tonight, and so my decode rate was only 96.71% as the band deteriorated towards the end.

Brendan1
26-02-2009, 02:28
Another excellent log: 99.87% decode tonight.

SFI: 71, A:3, and K:1. The indices are better than last night by a small margin.

Brendan1
27-02-2009, 02:09
An excellent log: 49 meters is very steady right now, and I like it! I hope it continues. :)

Brendan1
28-02-2009, 03:30
Another stellar log tonight: very few dips. :D

Brendan1
01-03-2009, 02:12
First day of the month, first perfect log of the year! It has been quite some time since I've had a log looking like this. :D

Brendan1
02-03-2009, 02:17
Nearly perfect tonight. The band is noisier for some reason, a lot more QRN is audible.

Brendan1
03-03-2009, 02:27
Just missed perfection, again! A double-dip hit the SNR badly just before the end, probably QRM of some kind. :(

Brendan1
04-03-2009, 02:13
Sackville appears to have recovered from the outage during TDP: nearly perfect yet once again tonight.

KB7GF
04-03-2009, 05:27
Hi Everyone,

Here is tonight's log from my first attempt at combining a wideband loop antenna with a zero IF I/Q detector. The loop amplifier and detector are mounted on the same board with the loop directly wired to the amplifier. The unit is powered with 4 AA batteries. The IF out cable runs to the computer (located about six feet away).

The circuit uses a 24.26 MHz CMOS oscillator driving a 74HC4017 which controls a 74HC4066 switch to provide the I/Q signals.

Pretty encouraging results from such a simple circuit.

73,

Mark

Brendan1
05-03-2009, 02:33
Nearly perfect but for a couple of transmitter dips. Two graphs, one for the entire hour, and the other for the 7 minutes that the transmitter had problems. Interesting to look at it with a broader scale.

Brendan1
06-03-2009, 02:08
Excellent results again! Only very minor dips in the decode rate.

KB7GF
06-03-2009, 04:31
Hi Everyone,

Excellent results here again with the indoor I/Q loop. I forgot to record the log from last night, but it was just as good.

73,

Mark

KB7GF
07-03-2009, 02:11
Hi Everyone,

Very good signals tonight; 32.1 dB max, 29.8 dB average for the hour. This is the best log yet on the experimental I/Q loop.

73,

Mark

Brendan1
07-03-2009, 02:38
Nice log, Mark!

Sackville had problems right at the beginning, and the transmitter wasn't up for the first four minutes. Otherwise, excellent!

Brendan1
08-03-2009, 02:29
Another stellar log!

Brendan1
09-03-2009, 02:07
I know for a fact that the dip at 0135 was the transmitter going off-air very briefly, so the other dip may be the same. :(

Otherwise an excellent log.

Brendan1
10-03-2009, 02:15
Nearly perfect tonight. :D

Brendan1
11-03-2009, 02:17
Looks like the transmitter may have had a break at 0123.

Brendan1
12-03-2009, 02:40
I think the transmitter took another hit tonight at 0151. Otherwise excellent!

KB7GF
13-03-2009, 02:14
Hi Everyone,

Here are the I/Q-Loop results from tonight plus a picture of the complete setup in the living room. I connected the computer to the home theatre system during the broadcast, and was pleased with the results - - it really highlights the audio improvement of DRM over conventional analog. Very nice to listen to for extended periods. Reception was quite good, even though I moved the I/Q-Loop around while taking a few pictures. It also wasn't too bothered by the other AV equipment in the room.

73,

Mark

Brendan1
14-03-2009, 02:15
Excellent for both nights, although the Doppler graph is really strange tonight.

Brendan1
15-03-2009, 16:16
The Doppler looks odd again, but overall quality was excellent!

Brendan1
16-03-2009, 02:10
Excellent again tonight, only one small blip to spoil the show.

Brendan1
17-03-2009, 02:32
Only a couple of blips to spoil the perfection.

Brendan1
18-03-2009, 02:08
Very, very nice again.

Brendan1
19-03-2009, 02:10
Only two larger blips and a few small ripples, but still excellent tonight.

Brendan1
20-03-2009, 02:48
The band continues to be good at this hour. That's an understatement. :)

Brendan1
21-03-2009, 02:42
Some little blips to spoil the perfection tonight.

Brendan1
22-03-2009, 02:18
Rough tonight: the A level is up, and so is the K.

Brendan1
23-03-2009, 02:10
The band has recovered from last night's poor conditions.

Brendan1
24-03-2009, 02:40
A small transmitter blip at 0119 affected the overall quality.

Brendan1
25-03-2009, 02:52
So close, yet not quite there. :o

Brendan1
26-03-2009, 04:52
Conditions were about the same tonight: outstanding!

Brendan1
27-03-2009, 14:40
Dream crashed last night, so no log unfortunately for 27 March.

Brendan1
28-03-2009, 16:46
No CRI again: there appears to have been a schedule change, so I'll see what I can find out.

Brendan1
29-03-2009, 03:13
No schedule change: Sackville was just off-air for some reason last night. Excellent conditions tonight, reception was nearly faultless.

Brendan1
30-03-2009, 03:34
Continued success tonight: conditions were excellent!

Brendan1
31-03-2009, 03:13
Good conditions again, although there were some blips recorded.

Brendan1
01-04-2009, 03:38
One of these days I'll have a flat log with no blips! :)

Brendan1
02-04-2009, 05:54
Still quite excellent!

Brendan1
03-04-2009, 04:16
Excellence once again.

Brendan1
04-04-2009, 03:41
Looks like there was another transmitter glitch tonight, right around 0138. ;)

Alan Johnson
05-04-2009, 03:20
Not too bad, but not as good as further north on previous nights.

Brendan1
05-04-2009, 03:28
Well, I did have a couple of hits tonight, so my log isn't perfect (yet).

Brendan1
06-04-2009, 03:19
Pretty good, but not great tonight.

Brendan1
07-04-2009, 03:11
"Missed it by that much..." :D

Brendan1
08-04-2009, 03:35
All the way down to 99% today: bummer!

Some transmitter hiccups included free of charge too.

Brendan1
09-04-2009, 03:08
One tenth of one percent from perfect. Sheeesh.

Brendan1
11-04-2009, 03:14
Did not get the chance to log yesterday because of other constraints on my time. Today I didn't get the log started in time, and the log shows that conditions were interesting: the Doppler is way off!

Brendan1
12-04-2009, 17:33
The best log of the day for me! :)

Brendan1
13-04-2009, 03:10
Not bad considering that propagation has been hurting today. Looks like the transmitter had another problem between 0126 and 0127... :o

Brendan1
15-04-2009, 03:35
Well, Dream worked today unlike yesterday. The best of my three logs today.

Brendan1
16-04-2009, 03:10
Another excellent log!

Brendan1
18-04-2009, 03:17
Both nights were excellent, and tonight there were some transmitter hits thrown in for free again. ;)

Brendan1
19-04-2009, 03:14
A nice log tonight, with more blips again.

Brendan1
20-04-2009, 03:42
Another great log, no major issues tonight.

Brendan1
21-04-2009, 06:17
Looks like the band is taking longer to open now. More daylight at my latitude certainly shifts reception patterns.

Brendan1
22-04-2009, 03:10
Excellent results again tonight, although the SNR was not as high as on previous nights.

Brendan1
23-04-2009, 03:48
Good results for the most part again, although the band was slow to come in to full coverage.

Brendan1
24-04-2009, 03:31
No signal for the first few minutes tonight: the band hadn't opened yet.

Brendan1
25-04-2009, 03:15
Excellent results tonight: better conditions have returned.

Brendan1
26-04-2009, 16:22
Another excellent evening.

Brendan1
27-04-2009, 03:10
Once more conditions were near perfect.

Brendan1
28-04-2009, 03:13
My best log for now: conditions are just right for good 49m band openings in the evenings. :)

Brendan1
29-04-2009, 03:37
Some perturbations to the band, but overall it was very good as usual.

Brendan1
30-04-2009, 03:06
Another slow band opening tonight, and the SNR was lower as well.

Brendan1
02-05-2009, 17:13
There are not enough hours in the day any more. Excellent results again, but Sackville seems to have had some transmitter blips both nights.

Brendan1
03-05-2009, 18:46
The band was slow again but improved quickly. I won't have a log for the 4th as I'll be logging another broadcast instead.

Brendan1
06-05-2009, 05:54
Conditions remain highly variable. :(

Brendan1
07-05-2009, 15:39
Not much to listen to I'm afraid to say.

Brendan1
09-05-2009, 19:06
Very poor for both days. There have been high A levels lately and when combined with the low SFI, you can see the results. :(

Brendan1
12-05-2009, 03:52
My personal opinion is that the band is too low now, and the longer evenings here are not helping.

Brendan1
12-05-2009, 05:26
Better conditions tonight when compared to other nights lately.

Brendan1
14-05-2009, 02:34
Double-dipping? ;)

Brendan1
16-05-2009, 02:58
Much better conditions the last couple of nights: the solar flux is up, and that certainly helps me.

Brendan1
16-05-2009, 23:28
Far from perfect.

Brendan1
19-05-2009, 02:59
Propagation is not behaving anymore!

Brendan1
20-05-2009, 05:16
A good portion of the 19th's broadcast was excellent, but tonight? BLAAAH!!!

Brendan1
25-05-2009, 02:29
Quite poor still. The 49 meter band is now too low for me to have reliable reception out here: it's still daylight!

Missed the 22nd due to software crash.

Brendan1
25-05-2009, 02:30
Not very good last night either.

Brendan1
25-05-2009, 06:46
Very poor tonight.

Brendan1
26-05-2009, 06:36
Poor reception again for the first 30 minutes, then very nice when the band opened up.

Brendan1
29-05-2009, 04:14
Sorry to report that for two days running my PC crashed - after I left for work!

It behaved itself today. :) Propagation wasn't so kind however. :(

Brendan1
31-05-2009, 18:03
If this broadcast were an hour later in the evening, it would be perfect reception here. As it is, only good for the last fifteen minutes.

01-06-2009, 03:13
Hi to you all!

I just saw a DRM Station at 6080 kHz from (at least) 1.25 UTC to 2.00 (sign off).
HCJB is working analog at the same freq at the same time and the DRM signal was very weak so I could not find out which station was transmitting. Seemed to me as the signal was Mode B and with short interleaving?! Does anybody know more? Sackville is not at schedule this summer at that QRG!?

CRI from Sackville? I remember they were on this frequency sometime in the night. Maybe the entry is simply missing in the schedule.

Brendan1
03-06-2009, 04:49
I'm not sure why, but CRI has not been listed for some time for this broadcast. I can indeed assure you that it is they being relayed by CBC Sackville from 0100 to 0200 to North America with 70kW.

I'm on the west coast, and my reception has gotten quite poor since the seasons began shifting from winter to spring/summer. BUT, they are still there... :)

If only the entire hour was as good as the last twenty minutes...

Brendan1
03-06-2009, 04:58
Extremely poor tonight, the band is not opening up enough during this hour of the evening.

Ahh, I see. Thank you, Brendan and Douglas!

Old logs not posted yet: very busy at work, and an accident a few days ago stopped me cold until today.

More to come.

Excellent reception tonight. I didn't have my auto logger setup, so this is a little short on the front end as I was manually logging. My antenna is not currently pointed in Sackville's direction either, so I can probably do better. :)

Brendan1
26-01-2010, 02:43
A couple of little blips, but otherwise excellent.

Brendan1
27-01-2010, 02:03
Another good night of reception.

Brendan1
29-01-2010, 17:16
A little short: I recorded this manually and was a little late. Otherwise excellent reception.

Brendan1
30-01-2010, 02:27
Tonight's report: only one blip, nearly perfect.

Brendan1
31-01-2010, 02:26
Three blips tonight, something's going downhill. :o

Brendan1
02-02-2010, 02:51
Not bad yet again, some blips hurt the overall percentage.

Brendan1
04-02-2010, 00:28
Excellent results again.

Brendan1
04-02-2010, 03:11
Tonight's log: somewhat rough actually, although overall the numbers say it wasn't that bad.

Brendan1
05-02-2010, 02:53
Another great log. :) Only a couple of blips to report.

Brendan1
06-02-2010, 16:03
Great log.

Brendan1
07-02-2010, 02:24
My computer had a power fluctuation, and rebooted after only 15 minutes. SO, two parts today.

Neither CRI's nor RCI's fault, because what I did log was excellent with only minor fluctuations.

Brendan1
08-02-2010, 02:05
A small transmitter blip it would appear, otherwise excellent as usual.

Something happened to my screenshot - it wasn't saved, and I already cleared the logs. Sorry!

Brendan1
09-02-2010, 02:08
Another power fluctuation, and the UPS isn't working right. :( Which means two parts again. Outside of the gap, still excellent reception.

Brendan1
10-02-2010, 02:07
Much better today, no power failures, only a couple of blips to mar the log.

Brendan1
11-02-2010, 02:05
Another day, another excellent log. This is too easy...

Brendan1
12-02-2010, 02:54
Good reception again (and again, and again, and again). :D

Brendan1
13-02-2010, 02:05
Some glitches tonight, but of no real consequence.

Brendan1
14-02-2010, 02:18
Some glitches/blips tonight, but still quite good.

Brendan1
15-02-2010, 02:26
I'm not sure what happened as I was auto-logging and not listening. Didn't seem to affect the overall decode rate too much though. There was quite a bit of flutter/multipath showing but I don't think that was it.

Brendan1
16-02-2010, 02:06
Back to normal tonight, very good once again.

Brendan1
18-02-2010, 02:04
Dream crashed yesterday, which is why there is no log. Today, there is! :)

Brendan1
19-02-2010, 03:41
Some glitches/blips/what-have-you tonight, but still excellent otherwise.

Brendan1
20-02-2010, 02:23
CBC Sackville seems to be having some DRM exciter problems. Most of tonight's CRI broadcast was dead air as a result.

20-02-2010, 16:25
Here is an unattended log from last night, wondered why I did not get a signal for the whole transmission, but good to see it was the same in Brendanīs log.
Simone

Brendan1
21-02-2010, 02:03
Some more transmitter issues tonight, although they were quite brief. I hope Sackville isn't going to lose a transmitter to maintenance or repair, this is two days running of problems with keeping it going. :(

Outside of that, good reception tonight.

Brendan1
22-02-2010, 02:54
Perfect tonight!

If anyone is wondering, I'm using a different PC now, with an older version of DRM Plotter. It's an Acer laptop, with dual core AMD processor, so it is plenty fast for DRM decoding. I used it last year when I was in Chicago, so it is not a new machine...

Brendan1
23-02-2010, 02:03
Very nice tonight, although not perfect. Some blips took their toll... :o

Brendan1
24-02-2010, 02:15
Another good log this evening.

Brendan1
27-02-2010, 02:33
Back on the desktop for now, while I try to figure out what has been causing Dream to keep crashing for the last several days.

No crashes today, so by tweaking one setting in XP Task Manager last night I may have fixed it.

A nice log as always. :)

Brendan1
28-02-2010, 02:02
A good evening's log, very nice again. Only a couple of blips, as usual.

Brendan1
01-03-2010, 03:05
Nice, only two blips to spoil perfection. Some wobbles too, but they didn't cause any dropouts.

Brendan1
02-03-2010, 02:10
Some blips (again), which seem to be a regular occurrence now on Sackville. I'm seeing them across the three periods that I log daily from there. TX hiccups?

Brendan1
03-03-2010, 02:14
Only 24 minutes tonight: the PC crashed, cutting the log short. It wasn't Dream's fault for once either.

Brendan1
04-03-2010, 02:03
A little short, about 5 minutes, tonight due to operator error. I tried to have the PC do too many things right as the log started, and it didn't like it. A quick re-start of Dream, and everything was all right.

Except for a three second blip in the MSC, it was excellent as usual.

Brendan1
05-03-2010, 02:04
Somebody deserves a refund for the airtime! The MSC went dead about minute 12 and only the FAC was showing any active data for the rest of the hour. Checking the log details, there was no sync or FAC loss, only MSC failure.

Otherwise, the SNR was excellent...

Brendan1
06-03-2010, 15:30
Much better last night.

Brendan1
07-03-2010, 02:21
Not bad, but there were some errors, so it was just slightly off. Okay, so down by only .97% isn't really bad at all.

Brendan1
08-03-2010, 03:01
Quite good tonight, just a few tiny errors in the data.

Brendan1
09-03-2010, 03:07
A nice log again tonight.

Brendan1
10-03-2010, 02:55
The low solar activity numbers are really helping the lower frequencies right now, and this log shows it.

Brendan1
11-03-2010, 23:50
It would appear I forgot to post this last night. OOPS!

Brendan1
12-03-2010, 02:04
Somewhat more timely tonight... And a very nice log it is too.

Brendan1
13-03-2010, 02:03
Nice again, only some small errors tonight.

Brendan1
14-03-2010, 14:52
A good log (again) last night.

Brendan1
15-03-2010, 02:04
Only 4 small errors in the MSC to spoil the perfection! Maybe next time...

Brendan1
16-03-2010, 02:08
Perfection will only happen when you do not expect it. Not tonight at any rate.

:o

Brendan1
17-03-2010, 03:10
Not bad tonight, very good in fact. A happy Saint Patrick's Day to all, from this German-Irish-American! :D

Brendan1
18-03-2010, 02:05
Quite good tonight, not much to complain about. :)

Brendan1
20-03-2010, 03:10
I am getting old: I didn't even realize I hadn't posted last nights log until now... Both evenings' logs are quite good.

Brendan1
21-03-2010, 02:03
Not bad considering all the dips in the signal and frames rate. I think a new sound card may be causing the dips, but further research is needed to really know what is happening.

Brendan1
23-03-2010, 23:46
Not bad, but I think the downward drops are the fault of the equipment here, not Sackvilles'!

Brendan1
26-03-2010, 02:26
Two nights logs for the price of one! Two evenings' of near-perfect listening! And all FREE, FREE, FREE!

Sorry, it's been a long day teaching 9 year olds. :o A little humor makes the day go easier.

Brendan1
27-03-2010, 02:10
Very nice tonight, only some small errors in the MSC to drop the overall percentage.

Brendan1
28-03-2010, 05:07
Nice signal tonight, and please note this was done with my small 30cm loop antenna sitting in the window. Normally I use a one meter loop outside on a mast, so this was a major shift in antennas. I've already switched back to the larger loop.

This broadcast does not appear to have changed during the A10 switch, I'll inform Klaus Schneider that it is still going.

Brendan1
29-03-2010, 03:17
Back again, another good evening's logging. Great reception.

Brendan1
30-03-2010, 03:21
Good reception tonight, especially since it's not on the "schedule!"

Brendan1
31-03-2010, 03:47
A somewhat short log tonight: 1) manually logging, I started late; 2) a small, but nevertheless painful power fluctuation kicked off the PC; meaning that 3) it's only about 36 minutes long.

However, it was a really good 36 minutes! :D

Brendan1
01-04-2010, 03:23
Manually logging again - :( and so five minutes late. No power issues tonight though.

Brendan1
02-04-2010, 03:03
Auto-start tonight: a full log! :)

The solar indices have been dropping slowly this week, but it has not really affected this broadcast at all.

Brendan1
03-04-2010, 03:20
Quite good as usual. Okay, make that excellent! :)

Brendan1
04-04-2010, 03:55
Another fine log tonight.

Brendan1
06-04-2010, 04:03
I was so tired yesterday I forgot to post the log! Great on the 5th, but tonight, the 6th, was obviously affected by the propagation problems during the day.

Brendan1
07-04-2010, 03:46
Oy. Looks like the solar storms are still affecting reception tonight. A great high SNR of 20.99dB, only to slip towards the end. :o

Brendan1
08-04-2010, 03:03
The log looks much better tonight, and the ionosphere seems to be calming down.

Brendan1
09-04-2010, 03:42
Okay, things are looking pretty normal now. It does look like the transmitter had a little problem, but it was over very quickly.

Brendan1
10-04-2010, 03:03
Very good tonight, no problems at all.

Brendan1
11-04-2010, 03:12
Great reception again, I switched antennas at 0102 from my normal loop to a new dipole. No real difference seen, at least for this broadcast.

Brendan1
12-04-2010, 03:03
On the loop tonight, a few dips in the SNR and decode but otherwise it was okay.

Brendan1
13-04-2010, 03:05
Very good tonight, the numbers are quite excellent.
