I heard only one glitch today, but it looks like there were two...

Brendan1
02-06-2007, 01:24
Pretty good log last night.

Brendan1
02-06-2007, 05:22
Another good log. :)

Brendan1
03-06-2007, 03:20
Another fine late afternoon log! Good steady conditions right now. :)

Brendan1
04-06-2007, 03:04
The first twenty minutes or so were hit with a lot of short dropouts, but after that it was much better.

Brendan1
05-06-2007, 04:36
Still maintaining a high quality level here in Tucson, albeit with the slightest of difficulties. ;)

Brendan1
06-06-2007, 02:14
Still good - no complaints! :)

Brendan1
07-06-2007, 04:15
This is still going good for me - too bad I'm moving in a week, I'll probably lose my sweet spot for reception. :)

Brendan1
08-06-2007, 02:09
Weakest beginning in weeks! :(

Brendan1
09-06-2007, 02:06
An excellent log to end my string of such logs. I'll be moving in a week and need to dismantle the station for now. I won't be able to log until at least August when I hope to have a permament QTH. I'll be traveling in Europe during July, and I really wish I had a portable DRM receiver! :o

Alan Johnson
24-06-2007, 02:17
Got DRM working on the new computer. Looks like I'm getting 2-3 dB better SNR with the onboard Realtec sound chip. I'm surprised that I'm getting these results using the Microphone input for the Ten-Tec. I'm using the line in for the Winradio.

Alan Johnson
25-06-2007, 02:01
Not too bad today - late start due to mounting new computer monitor.

Alan Johnson
07-07-2007, 02:07
Overall good today - better than 9800 was doing when I tried to monitor around 2030 UTC.

Alan Johnson
08-07-2007, 02:27
Very good today - I was away from the radio, so recording stopped late.

Alan Johnson
09-07-2007, 02:00
Excellent!:)

Alan Johnson
14-07-2007, 02:13
Very good again today- dips towards end due to dirty trackball as I needed to reduce the input level to a very low value.

Alan Johnson
18-07-2007, 01:59
Just a quick check upon arriving home from work. Not bad, but a few audible hiccups.

Alan Johnson
23-07-2007, 02:03
Very good again, one small dip.

Alan Johnson
30-07-2007, 02:07
All over the place today - not very listenable.

FritzWue
08-08-2007, 02:06
A full hour of good music, signal getting weaker to the end.

Alan Johnson
11-08-2007, 02:00
Not good today.

FritzWue
24-08-2007, 02:15
Good today! :)
I was listening through my 80m matching network until 00:49 UTC, switched that then.
Signal was constantly getting weaker during transmission.
Looks like they are beaming to europe.

Habakukk
24-08-2007, 11:19
A few nights ago, I was able to listen to TDP radio on 9790 kHz here near Munich with the unmodified Morphy Richards almost without dropouts.

simone
25-08-2007, 07:10
Great results last night.

No dropouts with unmodified Morphy Richards on Saturday night.

andimik
05-09-2007, 12:32
Log was some days ago. Perfect for a couple of minutes.

Alan Johnson
10-09-2007, 02:00
Very rough today.

Brendan1
13-09-2007, 03:02
Had to do this unattended: it looked great just before I walked away, and I'm not sure what happened... :(

Brendan1
14-09-2007, 17:06
I think someone's TV is killing this transmission: the drop-off in signal strength happens to coincide with the start of the early evening news. Unfortunately, I know who, and they aren't going to be persuaded to not turn it on. :(

Brendan1
15-09-2007, 03:00
Okay, this is better. I'm now using KB7GF's loop antenna, and it is able to somewhat null-out the interference from the TV, but not yet all the way. I'll just have to keep on adjusting...

Alan Johnson
16-09-2007, 02:02
Fairly good SNR but inconsistent audio.

Alan Johnson
17-09-2007, 02:02
Irregular at first, but better than yesterday. Appeared to be improving just before my wife switched user accounts on the computer:(

Brendan1
19-09-2007, 03:07
A definite improvement over previous days. Still not all that good, but at least there is something for me to attempt to decode. :o

Brendan1
21-09-2007, 02:55
Still problematic: not very good today. I need to actively address the interference issue that is causing the bad reception, but I may not get very far. :(

Brendan1
22-09-2007, 02:48
Batman appears! Okay, that's not very good I know, but look at the graph!

FritzWue
22-09-2007, 07:34
:D :D

Brendan1
24-09-2007, 02:16
Not a very good report tonight, and no Batman either...

Brendan1
25-09-2007, 02:14
This log shows signs of improvement, although not enough to allow for good listening. Overall SNR looks to be better than it has for some time.

Brendan1
26-09-2007, 02:37
About the same as yesterday. Not enough good signal for good decoding.

Brendan1
27-09-2007, 02:38
Still not that great, but I think there is some overall improvement happening. It just might take a few weeks to get there. :o

Hello Everyone,

Here is tonight's log using the indoor loop. Pretty solid copy here in Eastern Washington.

73,

Mark

Brendan1
28-09-2007, 02:11
Another up and down log. Reception was not very good, again...

Alan Johnson
29-09-2007, 02:01
Very pleasant listening today. Log is in two parts due to switching user accounts in Vista.

Brendan1
29-09-2007, 03:32
My results for today are nowhere near as good as Alan's, I'm afraid.

KB7GF
29-09-2007, 04:09
Results with the indoor antenna here in E. WA were in-between Brendan's and Alan's results. Results were best at the beginning of the transmission and decreased from there.

73,

Mark

Alan Johnson
30-09-2007, 01:24
Strong start, but it didn't last long :(

Brendan1
30-09-2007, 06:31
My log showed one minute of airtime at 2dB. Not even worth putting up the graph tonight. One of the worst afternoons/early evenings I've seen in quite some time.

Brendan1
01-10-2007, 02:17
This log is only slightly better than last night's effort. Propagation is still quite bad from here to the rest of the world.

Brendan1
02-10-2007, 02:06
Propagation isn't getting any better at all.

KB7GF
03-10-2007, 02:12
Hi Everyone,

Tonights conditions here were MUCH improved!

73,

Mark

Brendan1
03-10-2007, 02:34
Great log, Mark! Mine shows some improvement tonight as well, but it's still not perfect (or even close).

Brendan1
05-10-2007, 03:09
Still having some issues with prop here, and a local electrical noise problem. Not a good day, in other words.

Brendan1
06-10-2007, 03:27
Definite improvement today for propagation, although the broadcast is still hit or miss for listening.

Brendan1
07-10-2007, 02:06
Still not-so-good for listening, although the band was obviously improving towards the end of the broadcast.

Brendan1
08-10-2007, 02:32
An improvement over today's preceding CBC relay(s) on 9800, but not very listener friendly either.

KB7GF
08-10-2007, 02:52
Hi Everyone,

Not sure what happened with the frames trace during the first five minutes of the transmission. Other than that, not too bad today here in E. WA.

73,

Mark

Brendan1
09-10-2007, 02:51
I'd settle for much better propagation any time now, thanks! A lousy day for me.:(

KB7GF
09-10-2007, 03:14
Hi Everyone,

Yes, like Brendan said, the band really dropped out (and it looks like it is gone for good - at least for this evening).

73,

Mark

Alan Johnson
10-10-2007, 02:00
Great! (for the first 50 minutes - then things went downhill.

Brendan1
10-10-2007, 02:10
Well Alan, at least you got 50 minutes! Me, not so good. :(

Brendan1
11-10-2007, 02:18
This log surprised me with better than usual strength and decoding figures. Maybe there's hope yet for 9 megs.

Brendan1
12-10-2007, 02:28
Odd pattern to the band propagation: a drop at first, then a rise in the middle, only to drop yet again. Unfortunately, I'm not all that optimistic for the 9405 RNW/MSY broadcast in 30 minutes.

Alan Johnson
13-10-2007, 01:54
Rough today - the dip at 00:12 was antenna switching. The nose dive at 00:44 I assume to be due to propagation deline.

Brendan1
13-10-2007, 02:18
I didn't do too bad today. Things are definitely looking up here, but nowhere near perfect (yet). :o

KB7GF
14-10-2007, 04:40
Hi Everyone,

Pleasant surprise this afternoon for this log. I've been tied up all week and haven't been able to log much. Conditions were much better here today.

73,

Mark

Alan Johnson
15-10-2007, 01:57
Pretty good for the first 30 minutes, then propagation faded.

Brendan1
15-10-2007, 02:06
I didn't last as long as Alan, but my log wasn't all that bad except for the band going away even earlier here than at Alan's QTH.

KB7GF
15-10-2007, 04:00
Hi Everyone,

Here is a shortened log from this evening. The drop at 0017 was my fault - I accidentally turned off the power to the loop.

73,

Mark

Brendan1
16-10-2007, 02:40
Somewhat variable conditions today, but this looks better than most of my logs of the recent past.

Brendan1
18-10-2007, 04:06
I really need for things to get steadier at my QTH, especially propagation. :(

Alan Johnson
20-10-2007, 02:01
Wow! Like old times - winter must be approaching.

Brendan1
20-10-2007, 02:27
Hmmm, decidedly different results from Alan's today. The graph shows four valleys and three peaks to the Frames rate, a rather unique specimen for me. Very regular too.

Brendan1
21-10-2007, 03:43
Almost forgot to post my log tonight. Not good (as usual). Still pretty shaky reception here.

Alan Johnson
22-10-2007, 04:33
Very good today - I should have used the attenuator.

Alan Johnson
23-10-2007, 02:02
WOW! This was with the front-end attenuator in-line.

Brendan1
23-10-2007, 03:56
Even for me this is a pretty good log tonight for TDP, although nowhere near like Alan's!

Brendan1
24-10-2007, 03:14
Not a good log, barely qualifies as a poor one.

Brendan1
25-10-2007, 18:04
A log this bad is just depressing. :(

Alan Johnson
26-10-2007, 02:19
Good reception, but note that the service label said "RCI" and the bitrate was 17.16 kbps mono.

Brendan1
26-10-2007, 02:28
I can't confirm your ID or data rate Alan: I logged this unattended, and my data was so poor tonight that I never got even the SDC to log.

KB7GF
26-10-2007, 02:58
Hi Everyone,

Shorter log and weaker here tonight, but still solid decode.

73,

Mark

Alan Johnson
27-10-2007, 02:01
Held up for 50 minutes and then died - even switching out the attenuator didn't help. Service label showed "DRM from CBC", not "TDP Radio".

Alan Johnson
28-10-2007, 05:58
I had to terminate the session early today, so I don't know if the band faded towards the end like yesterday.

Brendan1
28-10-2007, 17:51
Sorry for the delay folks, but I've been working on a local ham flea market the last couple of days. One horrible log on the 27th, one better log on the 28th.

Alan Johnson
31-10-2007, 00:47
Short logging. Correct bit rate, in stereo and correct service label, but propagation faded at the end.

Brendan1
31-10-2007, 16:38
Not a bad start but then I got slammed!

Alan Johnson
01-11-2007, 01:01
What happened? This is not pretty

Brendan1
01-11-2007, 01:38
I messed up and didn't change the date for DRM Logger, so no report. I don't know what it could be other than lousy propagation. SFI=67, K=0 at 0000Z tonight. ARRL prop report last Friday said there have been no sunspots for at least 3 weeks now, so we may be at rock-bottom for the cycle. Bring on the next one!

Brendan1
02-11-2007, 02:04
Well, I have a log finally but it's not that good. Pitiful day on 9 megs.

Alan Johnson
04-11-2007, 18:04
Held up for the entire hour.

Alan Johnson
04-11-2007, 18:06
Nothing at all today - I gave up after 30 minutes. Nap time at Sackville?

Brendan1
04-11-2007, 19:30
I noticed that too Alan. They didn't seem to be on 6080 either. Been messing about with my antenna, so haven't been able to log, but things are all better now, and my logs will resume.

Alan Johnson
05-11-2007, 01:11
It looks like 31 mtrs died just before 0000 UTC, but at least there was a transmission today.

Brendan1
05-11-2007, 02:06
Today's log is one of the strangest I think I've ever seen, at least in visual form. Yeah, 31 meters really died quick today. I gave up about half way through the hour.

On the 3rd log I did record the entire hour. Very slightly better than today.

Brendan1
06-11-2007, 02:52
Nine megahertz broadcasters are almost not worth logging right now, propagation is so bad. This time slot simply does not work for me and my location at all. :(

Brendan1
07-11-2007, 02:34
Continued negativity.

Brendan1
08-11-2007, 03:15
If TDP went down to 49 meters, I would probably have a much better log. As it is, not so good.

Brendan1
09-11-2007, 03:12
Pretty bad reception today, and there wasn't much decoding.

Brendan1
10-11-2007, 02:49
Today's log isn't all that bad for the first time in a very long time. Propagation appears to be better, at least for today.

Brendan1
11-11-2007, 02:43
Ouch! Compared to yesterday, this log is bad.

Brendan1
12-11-2007, 03:45
Another bad 9 meg log. Propagation has dropped out again.

Brendan1
14-11-2007, 06:41
Nothing good to report about this broadcast. Terrible propagation at this time of day, which is the beginning of dusk here.

Alan Johnson
15-11-2007, 00:33
The band didn't last very long today - I wish they would try 49 meters.

KB7GF
16-11-2007, 22:52
Hi Everyone,

Similar results here. This transmission is really suffering now.

73,

Mark

Brendan1
17-11-2007, 02:37
I think we have a consensus: this broadcast needs to shift to 49 meters! Almost no point to logging it now. :(

Brendan1
18-11-2007, 02:53
I've reached a new low: I'm actually posting this log. No, my behavior has been impeccable, but the data is so bad that it makes up for that positive factor and then some.

KB7GF
18-11-2007, 05:12
Hi Brendan,

I guess misery loves company:) I think your log is better than mine at this time slot!

73,

Mark

Brendan1
19-11-2007, 02:30
Hi Mark! I've managed to do even worse today than yesterday. I shut down after 32 minutes: there was not even the slightest trace of signal on the waterfall. Another day and there won't be anything to log.

Brendan1
20-11-2007, 17:18
Well, originally I didn't think that I would have anything on the log, but I was wrong. Today's geomag disturbances ought to kill this broadcast completely (21st Nov).

TDP, if anyone is reading this, please shift to 49 meters! For the west coast of North America the current frequency is now entirely worthless.

Brendan1
21-11-2007, 03:32
Oddly tonight's broadcast had higher SNR levels than the previous couple of weeks, especially given the geomagnetic disturbances happening today. Still no decoding though. :(

KB7GF
21-11-2007, 15:11
Hi Everyone,

The Nov. 21st log was the best in quite a while for this broadcast.

73,

Mark

Brendan1
23-11-2007, 06:34
Still not doing too well in this time slot.

Alan Johnson
24-11-2007, 00:45
The transmission was fairly listenable for the first 25 minutes.

Alan Johnson
25-11-2007, 01:12
Nada, zip, zilch! :(

Brendan1
25-11-2007, 17:24
In the race to the bottom, I tend to think I'm beating everyone. This log proves it.

Brendan1
27-11-2007, 17:37
I'm not posting my log/data from last night as there is nothing to show. Not even the smallest little red crest of the SNR momentarily peaking, nothing. I don't know if this will be long term or not, so I'll keep logging to see if it's only temporary. :(

Brendan1
28-11-2007, 02:24
HAH! Data has appeared once more - but no real improvement either, managing only about 11 1/2 minutes worth of log.

Brendan1
29-11-2007, 03:10
No joy - only 8 minutes of log tonight.

Brendan1
30-11-2007, 02:38
No data today: the signal never even showed a trace on the waterfall.

Brendan1
01-12-2007, 03:12
No data to show today, again. Until I see some dramatic improvement, I won't bother to log this broadcast any more.

Brendan1
03-12-2007, 03:43
In spite of my earlier misgivings, 31 meters was so improved today that I logged TDP today. Still not doing so well, but better than most days of late.

Brendan1
06-12-2007, 03:05
Still doing very poorly into the west coast.

Brendan1
07-12-2007, 02:50
Still no good.

Alan Johnson
10-12-2007, 01:02
At least some audible programming today.

Brendan1
10-12-2007, 02:54
My log is nowhere near as good as Alan's. Just goes to show what a few hundred miles (or kilometers) difference in location makes.

Brendan1
11-12-2007, 02:34
Wow, what a surprise! I was around the computer to hear the first few minutes but not the last audible portion. Best conditions for TDP in months.

KB7GF
11-12-2007, 06:00
Hi Everyone,

Nice surprise here also :)

73,

Mark

Brendan1
12-12-2007, 17:43
Feast or famine, that's TDP from CBC. Terrible day yesterday afternoon.

Brendan1
13-12-2007, 02:25
Not much to say about this log. Back to the recent 'norm' of next to nothing.

Brendan1
14-12-2007, 21:01
Still not very good.

Brendan1
15-12-2007, 03:55
Still waiting for my sacrifices to the sun god to pay off.

Brendan1
16-12-2007, 00:49
Nothing good happened today either.

Brendan1
17-12-2007, 03:49
Thirty one meters has had it by the time TDP's slot rolls around. They really need to drop to 49 meters...:(

Brendan1
18-12-2007, 03:07
No decoding, only a long series of pointy spikes in the SNR today.

Brendan1
19-12-2007, 03:07
Still having quite bad reception here.

Brendan1
20-12-2007, 02:39
Only slightly, very slightly, better than the last few days. Not enough to make listening any easier though, especially since there still was no decoding.

Brendan1
21-12-2007, 17:19
Extremely poor results yesterday.

Brendan1
22-12-2007, 03:08
With reception like this, who needs enemies? :(

Brendan1
23-12-2007, 02:21
Still nothing.

AF4MP
24-12-2007, 02:27
A little audio at the beginning and then the signal dropped out...

Brendan1
24-12-2007, 02:52
A very slight gain to the signal strength, but not enough to make any real difference.

Brendan1
25-12-2007, 03:09
No joy to the world for TDP tonight! Still not making it to the west coast.

Brendan1
26-12-2007, 02:10
Absolutely no joy this evening: no data, so not much to look at.

f1tay
27-12-2007, 01:53
Very good reception at Paris.
Daniel

Brendan1
27-12-2007, 03:46
I wish I received TDP as well as Daniel, but I haven't done so in a long, long time.

Brendan1
28-12-2007, 03:07
Some very slight improvement in the signal strength today: at least something can be found on the graph!

Brendan1
29-12-2007, 03:16
Dead as a doornail today. Really, not much to smile about with this log. :(

Brendan1
30-12-2007, 02:20
Some signs of change: I was actually able to listen to audio for a few minutes today, which was a nice change from hearing nothing at all.

Alan Johnson
31-12-2007, 01:36
A few snippets of audio today, before the computer froze.

Brendan1
31-12-2007, 02:04
I got nothing today; no data for the entire hour.

Brendan1
03-01-2008, 16:59
Only the smallest amounts of data recorded last night. Not a good log.

03-01-2008, 18:39
Hi all,

I got a couple of logs over the Christmas holidays. Neither are very good, but I am way out of the target zone, I am sure. This is the only DRM transmission that I get anything at all from these days, so I figured I would post them anyway. One of the logs is from the 28th of Dec. I actually got some audio then. the other is from today (last night actually).

Doug

Brendan1
04-01-2008, 02:37
You've done better than I have, Doug! Tonight I had a little bit of a signal, so this is better than the last few days.

Brendan1
05-01-2008, 19:36
Well, at least I have some signal throughout most of the hour.

HC7AW
06-01-2008, 02:03
Hi all,

I got started a bit late tonight, but I did get some audio at the beginning. It was not real consistent though.

Doug

AF4MP
06-01-2008, 02:15
I was also late in starting the log.

I'm using my new Ten-Tec RX 320D receiver (a Christmas present to myself)and finding that the SNR is about 3 to 5 dB worse than the Kenwood R-1000 (with the Sat-Schneider mixer) when using the same long wire antenna. Not sure why that is, and haven't had time to investigate.

Pretty dismal over on this coast.

Now we're talking! Bi-coastal parity has been achieved! Nothing out here either.

Brendan1
16-01-2008, 17:01
Only a short spike towards the beginning, but this is better than most days.

Brendan1
17-01-2008, 03:07
There was more signal in this one broadcast than the last week's entire logs combined. I hope I'm seeing a trend in improving conditions.

Brendan1
18-01-2008, 03:11
Yechhh! Back to the doldrums...

AF4MP
18-01-2008, 03:21
Misadjusted the logging, so only the last half hour logged. Looks like I did not miss much!

Snippets of audio today, the first half approached listenability.

This evening's 9790 kHz reception report. Bad. Almost non-existant.

Brendan1
19-01-2008, 18:09
Interesting - my SNR spikes are not as big as Zyg's, but I have more of them.

Brendan1
20-01-2008, 06:25
Not so good tonight.

HC7AW
21-01-2008, 01:06
WOW!

That was impressive tonight! I even recorded some of the audio to use as a demo some day. The stereo effects were awesome! Here is my log....

Doug

Brendan1
21-01-2008, 03:28
Nowhere near as impressive as Doug's log. :(

Doug

Brendan1
22-01-2008, 06:32
And mine was no different from either of yours!

AF4MP
23-01-2008, 02:27
Continues to be bad. :(

- Doug and Brendan: hope you are able to receive a better signal. :o

Brendan1
23-01-2008, 02:37
Now that you mention it, Zyg, my log does look better than yours! Still not lasting anywhere near long enough for good listening though... :o

HC7AW
23-01-2008, 18:18
Here's mine. The signal never got high enough to decode audio....

Here's another good one after a couple of really bad nights. The drop out in the middle of the transmission is interesting. I decided to plug in my laptop to electrical power. Almost immediately the SNR dropped. When I noticed it, I unplugged the laptop again and the SNR came right up again.

This evening's 9790kHz reception report.

Well at least there is 1.) a signal throughout the entire transmission period, and 2.) there is some audio towards the end.

I'm still winning the race to the bottom!

I managed to equal if not do worse than yesterday's log.

Hi all,

I'm a little slow today. My internet connection was not working last night. I did get some audio at the beginning of the transmission, but it became fairly unreliable as we neared the end.

Doug

Brendan1
26-01-2008, 03:30
I'm amazed: there were actually a few moments that audio was decodable today, they just didn't last very long! Best signal strength for quite some time for this transmission.

Hi Everyone,

I've been tied up with many other things, and haven't been able to log since the end of December. Today, was the first day back, and it was encouraging. Hopefully, it is not a fluke - although, I can see from the other logs that this frequency has been difficult during the last several months.

73,

Mark

Still no good out here on my side of the state, maybe Mark did better?

Last night's 9790 kHz unattended reception report.

The inline 10dB attenuator, that I installed yesterday, seems to have helped with the max SNR being 24.6dB (versus 21.1dB the previous evening)! :)

Hi all,

I missed last night, but here is tonight's log.

Doug

Brendan1
28-01-2008, 02:07
Not sure why the log got labeled as "9800," but it did. It was TDP, as I was sitting here at the computer for the hour, and will vouch for it. Besides that little snafu, it was the best TDP log in months for me!

Tonight was the pits: nothing at all decodable, again.

Mediocrity rears its' ugly head yet once again...

Brendan1
01-02-2008, 02:41
Hmmm, band conditions were better tonight, and the solar indices are also up, showing a little activity.

HC7AW
02-02-2008, 01:11
Hi all,

Here is mine. I got some audio at the beginning and at the end. There was a larger "audio hole" in the middle though...

:-)

Doug

Brendan1
02-02-2008, 02:39
Miserable conditions on this end today.

Brendan1
03-02-2008, 02:13
Still pretty miserable conditions, only made worse by the minor solar storm.

Alan Johnson
04-02-2008, 00:39
I got about 28 good minutes (Winradio DRM and Dream combined). WinDRM still doesn't log CDA

Brendan1
04-02-2008, 03:13
Not even 2 minutes here, let alone 28!

Brendan1
05-02-2008, 02:52
Little bits, here and there today, then a really big drop-off.

HC7AW
05-02-2008, 03:15
Hi all,

Here is mine for the day. I got a bit of a late start, but the end of the transmission was pretty good...

Doug

Brendan1
06-02-2008, 02:33
Well, TDP did pretty well today, although not as consistent as I would have liked.

HC7AW
06-02-2008, 02:40
Here is mine for tonight. It was not as consistent as it has been in the past.

Doug

Brendan1
07-02-2008, 17:15
Interesting to see the hops change: when I'm in a bad spot, Doug's in a good one and vice versa. Yesterday was not too bad, right on the edge of being 'good.'

Brendan1
08-02-2008, 02:11
Things are definitely looking up for this broadcast. Now, if I hadn't been trying to mess with the innards, these logs would look much better as one. BUT, since I didn't leave well enough alone, there was a break for re-booting. :o

Brendan1
09-02-2008, 02:49
It started out great tonight, but unfortunately the goodness didn't last.

Alan Johnson
10-02-2008, 02:07
Better today - I'm looking forward to later sunsets.

Brendan1
10-02-2008, 06:27
I'm with you Alan - longer days = longer decoding.

Alan Johnson
11-02-2008, 01:01
What gives? There was a geomagnetic storm and the earlier broadcast on 9800 khz was awful, so I can't explain this!

KB0VE
11-02-2008, 02:12
Great stereo for 10 minutes:cool: Then everything went south.

Brendan1
11-02-2008, 02:30
Well, TDP was not as bad as CBC, but still not all that hot. Miserable day.

Brendan1
12-02-2008, 16:43
Not as good as I'd like it, but better than a lot of days of late.

Brendan1
14-02-2008, 02:55
Ouch! Not much good to report here.

Brendan1
15-02-2008, 02:20
The audio in the first half hour was better than the graph would indicate, as I was listening and I didn't notice so many dropouts.

Brendan1
16-02-2008, 02:47
Another not-so-good log. Three really odd spikes in the Doppler too, I'm not sure what caused those.

Alan Johnson
16-02-2008, 06:03
The usual variability, not due to the new receiving setup, I don't think.

Brendan1
17-02-2008, 01:52
Variability is correct, just look at my log...

Alan Johnson
18-02-2008, 02:09
Not too bad today - almost listenable for the entire hour

Brendan1
18-02-2008, 02:13
I still had it drop out at the half hour mark, but it was pretty good up to that point.

Alan Johnson
19-02-2008, 01:03
Not bad at all for 40 minutes - wonder why it was better than the tailend of the 9800 khz transmission?

HC7AW
20-02-2008, 01:40
Hi all,

I got home in time to log the last 20 minutes.

Doug

Brendan1
20-02-2008, 03:09
A fair bit of decoded audio today which was nice, and also unexpected considering how bad 9800 was just prior to this.

Brendan1
21-02-2008, 02:30
This was a nice surprise: almost the entire hour was decoded.

Alan Johnson
21-02-2008, 03:29
I think I would have decoded the entire hour, if the computer hadn't frozen

HC7AW
21-02-2008, 16:29
Hi all,

Here is my log. I was just on the edge with the SNR most of the time.

Doug

Brendan1
22-02-2008, 02:43
Quite variable today.

Brendan1
23-02-2008, 02:05
An early closing to the band, but still better than a lot of days.

Brendan1
25-02-2008, 21:41
Not bad, rather listenable.

Brendan1
26-02-2008, 02:58
Not as flat a graph as I would like, but still quite a bit of recovered audio.

Brendan1
27-02-2008, 03:44
Some continuing improvement for this broadcast. Still rather variable, but there is more signal for the hour.

PP5AZF-Ataliba
28-02-2008, 01:30
Decoded audio 0,01% (00:02-00:59h).

Brendan1
29-02-2008, 02:39
Very poor today. The last 15 minutes my computer locked up, so the data is quite erroneous.

Brendan1
01-03-2008, 03:42
The bad solar weather certainly hit my logs hard today. I'm not sure what the last 30 minutes means, what with the flat line and all. I'm inclined to think something wasn't working right but I can't guess which part.

Alan Johnson
02-03-2008, 02:16
Up and down today.

Brendan1
02-03-2008, 03:48
Only the smallest of trace signals today: it was bad all day here.

Brendan1
03-03-2008, 02:01
Far better than yesterday, but still not all that good.

Alan Johnson
03-03-2008, 02:18
very good for the first half.

Brendan1
04-03-2008, 02:51
Not all that bad today; a good recovery from the last few days of disruption.

HC7AW
04-03-2008, 13:16
Well....

I did get something for the first half hour anyway....

Doug

Brendan1
05-03-2008, 02:24
A good recovery from the lousy solar conditions of the past few days. Okay, so it could be better, but beggars can't be choosers.

Brendan1
07-03-2008, 20:49
Slightly late, but then I've been working on the special broadcasts for Kulpsville.

Brendan1
09-03-2008, 20:37
Late but not forgotten. Reception has gotten better lately, thanks to the changing seasons. These logs don't show the improvement all that much, but on average conditions are better. :o
