The link to the newest DRM receivers of Himalaya
Nico
I wonder if these are just another two prototypes that will never make it into production like the old DRM2008 (http://www.stoepplernet.de/drm/ifa05/DRM2008_front.jpg) shown at IFA last year (http://www.drmrx.org/forum/showthread.php?p=20433) and never seen again.

Ooops? I thought they had stopped selling the MAYAH DRM 2010 receiver ?
By the way: I bought one of these last year. Now it is stored far away. One day my grandsons will find it and will wonder, why on earth their mad grandfather spent so much money for a piece of electronic scrap.......
So whatever comes on the market this year or much later - I will abstain from buying it until I have read several (!) good test reports from independent sources.

Andreas,
just curious: What receiver are you using now with DREAM?
My answer comes late, because I was on a business trip. (I'm on tour very often, so I would like to have a compact but sensitive portable receiver for DRM ;) )
My receiver is a TEN-TEC RX-350 D (not to be mixed up with the "black box" RX-320 !)where D means a 12 kHZ IF-0utput already supplied by the manufacturer. This receiver does quite well on short wave, but (as former test reports also confirm) is less good on medium wave and really deaf on long wave - no wonder with a receiver coming from the states...
It must be REALLY BAD for you to have put it away! I'd be interested to have you "side-by-side" test your old one with one of the the several units that should be coming out soon. What made it so awful? Even on strong Euro DRM signals? Yikes!

...sorry for answering VERY late. As I mentioned I am on business trips very often, and also we had quite nice weather the last few days here in Hamburg, so I preferred outdoor activities.
The MAYAH-receiver has several great disadvantages: It is equipped like a portable radio, without really being one. Energy consumtion is so high it can run on external supply (12V DC, 220 V AC or whatsoever) only. You can even feel where energy goes: the set becomes really hot during operation!
Built-in antennae (telescopic antenna for SW, mini ferrite rod for MW and LW) make it difficult to get any reception, so only the strongest stations e.g. RTL on 6095 kHz or Deutsche Welle on 15440 kHz could be heard, while reception on MW and LW was a complete desaster.
With an external antenna things were better, but I needed several adapters to get connected. Faulty contacts within the chain of adapters or in the receiver's antenna plug caused crackles, when touching receiver or cable. Crackles caused complete sync loss again and again........
On the other hand my external active rod antenna I use now seems to overload the reciever, and there is no attenuator available.
So a last I decided not to put stress on myself any longer. Now I am quite happy with the temporary equipment, which gives also good opportunity for analysis.
The stand alone radio is an option for the future, when there ar so many stations on air, you sometimes really want to listen to the programme only, without any DXing....
