Information about their major consultation with broadcasters was given in a previous thread.

Next week they are involved in the London Digital Radio Show, which representatives of the DRM consortium are also attending, check session 2 on the Day One programme.

I attended the presentation Peter Davies, (Director of Radio and Multimedia, Ofcom). The presentation had 3 main themes : plans for a 2nd commercial DAB multiplex, The use of L band for DAB and the introduction of DRM. It seems Ofcom see a place for DRM in the UK for community radio and also smaller cities that can not support a full DAB multiplex. They made a positive statement about DRM saying the issue of new AM licences had ceased while DRM is evaluated and that when the first of the national MW licences comes up for renewal Ofcom will be technology neutral (ie DRM will be permitted). About 8 Ofcom people attended the show and all were very knowledgeable about DRM.

Also of interest was a new Morphy Richards receiver, using the Radioscape module like the Roberts MP40, but a completely different black case that looked great. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture;(

And finally (my own plug!) I was able to take many people for a short drive listening to UBC classic Gold and Deutsche Welle broadcast on 26 MHz. The car had a Roberts MP40 fitted and reception in the Kensington/Hammersmith area of London was great.

Hmm but what year are we talking about ?! I don't see that there is anything left to be evaluated with DRM. It's tried and tested, it works, wnat are they waiting for !! All hapening or not happening far too slow for me anyway, stations and radios...
