Unattended 9 hour overnight log.
Here on 3.9 MHz a lot QRN is mostly the problem. For this situation a good result.

A 9h 45min long unattended log. There was a 35 minutes long period with nothing, which I have no idea what it was. Up until that break the CDA was 99.6 % and after the CDA was 96.3 %, mainly with the increasing daylight.

This morning at the beginning of the log some minor decoding problems but from 06:38 until 09:30 UTC, 99.75% CDA.
Just a short log this evening. The dip at 15:51 was a PC overload doing something silly. Otherwise perfect.

As planned last week-end, I made a long reception report today on this frequency.
It was very difficult (as you could see on the attached picture). Sometime, the S-meter dropped below S2.
The red curve (SNR) give a good estimation of the S values.
The transmission ended at 1630. Before (since 1600), it was an other station (HCJB) in 3955 kHz who made some interferences, enough to pollute the DRM signal (1kW against 100 kW in Germany).
At short distance, increasing the power by 5 dB could help !!!
For information, I added a long report made on this frequency at the end of October (for comparison purpose).

Hi all,
unattended log with very good result last night between 2310 and 0410 UTC. The signal came back around 0610 UTC. Again very good decoding until 0800 UTC. Then the daytime conditions was present.
A later start here. Perfect from 00:30 until 03:25 when the signal disappeared. At 06:45 it suddenly came up and the reception was pretty good for one hour.
I split my log in two for easier comparison with Ant-SWL's logs.
Results from last night, typical for my location, most days reception ends around 0330- 0350 UTC.

A good overnight log. The first 5 hours and 47 minutes resulted in >99% CDA, followed by nothing until 6 UTC when the conditions started to improve again.
I'm puzzled by the difference between my log from the 23rd and this one; sometimes I am pestered by local QRM from nearby.

There was a strong carrier on 3960 kHz all the time that could be filtered out with the razorsharp sdr filter, but at 14:30 UTC am modulation started, then only reduced reception:

There would be no chance of reception when Radio Taiwan Int. switches on.

I have got a confirmation from ISS that 3965 kHz is "off air" for a few days following a big storm which hapened on 11 February with winds at 130 km/h.
The folded dipole antenna exhibits a high SWR so needs some maintenance but some other antennas suffered from high winds.

...just have a look at this terrible AM signal transmitting Radio Nederland! :mad:
Date and time is stamped in the lower left corner.
The noise floor from 3995 kHz is also visible.
On a clear (channel) /day/ you can (listen) /see/ forever.... But with AM in the channel (definitely the case at 2010 UT) you can not hear much at all (but AM). :mad: Grrrr...
And before 22 UTC was Radio Taiwan in German from ???? blocking RFI completely :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad:
Taiwan is messing up the reception completely from 18 UTC. :mad: :mad:

There was an antenna issue in Issoudun and it was necessary to use a 50 m high elevator in order to fix it and this elevator was only available after a long delay...

This low power signal is not really competitive in the afternoon here, see Sines on 3995kHz.
When there is fading on 3965kHz the noise floor of 3995kHz sometimes is as strong.

Oui cela fait déjà plus de 3 mois qu'il y a cette station numérique. Ici (à 30 km de l'émetteur) ce n'est pas très gênant. Chez toi, le RTTY a l'air relativement fort comparé au signal DRM.

Results were not so good the past weeks, mostly due to bad propagation this summer but also AM co- channel interference and sometimes co- channel interference from KRTPC in DRM. Hope things will improve again in autumn.

Yes 3965 kHz transmission is still alive; I can receive it here in my holiday location (SW of France close to Spain) on my old Mayah receiver running on 12 V battery and whip antenna at around 1700 UTC with a MER of 14 dB and quite good audio quality (few dropouts) thanks to 14 kbs bitrate and 16 QAM modulation.
Transmission also received in Vosges area (East of France near Germany); thanks to Marcel.

The signal on 3955 kHz is very clear but very strong!
There is AM interference ontop starting at 17:00 UTC.
I see a twin impulse here on the horizontal dipole.
Seems there has been no transmissions the past couple of nights, last time I got a signal was on Nov 11th.
