Hi all,
here is an example (last Friday) of the situation on 594 kHz, no chance to receive hr info at home due to the collision with Glas Hrvatske :(
I am still interested to hear about reception of hr info from listeners in Hessen and other parts of Germany, please send reports/ observations by e mail (address in the attachment)
And thanks to everyone who already sent in reports!

some more information about HRT:
this DRM test transmission originates from a transmitter site 30km from Zagreb, currently DRM TX outputpower is 10 kW, target area is Croatia,
using the same antenna as the 1125 kHz AM transmission.
@Carsten: good to hear hr info is OK in Frankfurt, our measurements also showed good reception in the Frankfurt area (but only there :(),
btw DRM calc shows Tx site Osijek, should be Deanovec (http://www.hrt.hr/oiv/deanovec/index.html)

HRT this evening with a strong signal, HR info can hardly be heard behind the DRM noise.

With the loop, HRT cannot be nulled out. :-(

Hi,

when I tuned in, the voice of Croatia carried news in english, later followed by news in spanish. Signal seemed to come from all directions and by turning the ferrite antenna, I could find a position where hr info was weak and where the DRM signal was strong at the same time.

Later, with the programme again in croatian, the DRM signal lost strength as if less power was used. :confused:

last night I checked again the situation with the interference from Croatia, some audio decoding but even with only 7-8 dB SNR no fun to listen to hr- info in AM, see attachment

But so far, we have always seen it the other way round, ie such that DRM is what we want and that the AM signal is the interferer. :D

yesterday evening i monitored 594. Glas Hrvatske was quite strong. 40% audio. No real chance to "decode" HR-Info :-(.

I would be interested in observations/ results on this frequency from listeners especially in the southern part of Hessen but also other parts of Germany tomorrow night:
Jan 10th: 0005- 0200 CET
Besides logfiles of this period I am also interested in information about signal strength (compared to signal strength before local midnight). Please send information to my e mail address, mentioned in some posts above.

Should the receiver's antenna be located to maximize hr-info or Glas Hrvatske?

thanks for the report, maybe you can post a comparison with results of tonight tomorrow, also please send me the logfiles of both nights.
@ Roland, for the time period mentioned above please maximize signal of HRT, but I would appreciate any observations with directional antennas concerning signal strength before and after this period.
So far several listeneres mentioned that they are not able to null out HRT.

Here is my report with the ferrite antenna turned to maximize signal to noise ratio for the DRM signal. There was local interference from my neighbour's lighting system at the beginning as well. The DRM signal also had long periods with fade-outs.

Hi Simone,

no chance of any audio here in Frankfurt. There was still a S9+25dB AM signal. The DRM Signal looked quite weak here. Much weaker than Radio Vatican.

Thanks Bernd for your post, I have not seen any complaints from hr-info listeners yet, but this morning during the news at 08:00- 08:05 I noticed interference from the Croatian station for the first time this winter. Here in Hessen I had about 8 dB SNR from DRM, nothing after 08:05, I did not check this afternoon.

Yes, hr info can be heard here (weak, but understandable) in the morning (car radio) and even after 8:00 local time (--> of course then DRM is nearly impossible, but I had luck, see above).

But I have to tell you, that I don't have an antenna for MW, I only use 2m extension cable (3,5 mm jack), my Degen 1103 antenna was not plugged in for 594 DRM (too much noise instead of good reception).

I have not noticed any interference from the Croatian station for the past two weeks or so, seems they are off air too, but have not heard officially that they have stopped their DRM tests.
