TDP is back on 6015 kHz. Less local interference and stronger signal than on 3965 khz. But the SNR is TX limited to 22 dB. This schould be fixed! This caused dropouts in periods with heavy fading, where the margin is to small. So some dropouts occured. Sound problems in the beginning with volume levels on left channel. Nice mix today.

Thanks for the reception results. And happy to note that 6015 kHw is performing better again compared to Summer time.
My problem with the new laptop is not solved yet. Enclosed a typical screenshot. Although signals are strong, the SNR I am getting on the new laptop is always low. The Sync and Data leds are changing to red very often, and only by accident, there is sometimes Audio for 1 second. Don't really know how to solve this.

Unfortunately a bad frequency for me.
Juelich is too close in wintertime.....
I used to burn a cd, now no new music in the car anymore... :(
This transmissions needs a higher SNR to be more resistent against fast and selective fading. But also signal was a bit weak in the second part. I do not know what problem they have in Jülich, but I saw this transmission with 30 dB in former times. Please fix TX or whatever.

but after 16:00 local time condx were gone. Silence on the whole 49m band except from Rampisham and Taldom (?)

First hour perfect, but then silence. See comparision between AOR/ALA and DWT/DE31. The dropout around 15 UTC was caused by a battery change in DE31.
Quite interesting is the SNR in first and 2nd hour.

Results from today. TX has still a too low SNR, but nobody seems to fix it. Still too low audio level.
I got a lot of dropouts. They dissapeared when I started dream in parallel and switched power settings to max performance. Strange.

Very good signal today, I've let the laptop logging "alone" until batteries went off (frequency is not reliable with AC adaptor plugged to the laptop).
I already converted the 85 minutes long WAV file from Dream in MP3 and I'm now enjoying listening to it on my mobile phone... Good music for a saturday night ! :-)

this is the first day of a complete full 2 hours reception of TDP Radio since a long time. Only some problems at the end, because of a strong AM Station, that started a bit too early on 6015khz.
Some audio skipping, especially at the beginning.
Also here in the north. Btw local sunset now is 16:06 at my QTH, seems to help a lot!

Hello to all,
Perfect result today, with also new reception conditions : a ferrite bar with some badly looped wire around, connected to the 'wire' socket of the DWT. It worked perfectly in the 49m this afternoon except for 5810 Taldom. This ferrite antenna worked good only with the laptop plugged to AC power, not when it was running on batteries only.
... and good music ! Listened to it on my hi-fi system.

Good reception here but needed to run the computer on batteries only. I first started reception in the kitchen and the living-room. It was really bad, so I immediately moved upstairs to a QRM-free room.

Good programming and good potential reception here. During the first minutes the computer was connected to the internet and running on AC power. Then, I have let the computer logging and recording in good reception conditions. There were many dropouts due to much activity of the family at home (other computer/printer, switching on/off the lights, tv...).

Not so good today, due to man-made noise around (carriers ID 0 to 50 at around 17dB SNR and very sensitive to interferences, and carriers ID 50 to 200 around 23dB SNR). I'm going to get the Degen antennas soon, so I wish I may improve my reception.

Business as usual today: Stable reception on 6015 kHz except one short drop (which was made even worse, by touching the tuning knob by mistake :mad:) and good sound.
Faint signal with short bits of audio only on 11900 kHz, not worth logging.

Automatic report while I was away, laptop's AC power adapter was programmed to be off 1400-1530 UT. I noticed heavy noise between LW and 31m and also still a few carriers beyond, this saturday. There was electrical activity by my neighbours, and maybe propagation was involved too. RMC 6175 was surprisingly the only one good.

First of all WOW ! After some problems to get the Tx started SNR cracked the notorious 21,x dB limit for the first time since I am logging this broadcast..
I let the Laptop alone, so I cannot explain the several deep drops - local - Tx related or trouble in the ionosphere ??? :confused:

Delayed start and earlier end. Excellent here, with new reception conditions : laptop let on AC power and the Degen DE31 antenna connected to the DWT. I will listen to the music tomorrow in my car, but it seems to be good :-)

Great to see that the SNR is for the first time much higher than in recent months. Of course, we are also interested in the reasons and will try to gather some more details.
The dropouts are strange and they do differ in time comparing different charts, so it seems like a moving blackout. HAARP as Carsten might suggest :confused: ??
Anyway, Stephane, make sure to listen in your car today, the mix is from DJ Rafy Nieves and I think you will like it. Enjoy !

no SNR limit today! A bit weak, instable und heavy fast selective fading at the beginning, but stronger and more stable later.
I especially liked the music in the 2nd part.
BTW I really miss the great TDP intros from former times. You have really great TDP Radio jingles!
It could have been so nice, if the signal wouldn't be down so often :( .
Generally also DW's transmissions from Juelich are hardly audible for me. Seems I am temporarily in the skip zone. Perhaps you should rent the Tx at Sines for some hours ;)

Good result, laptop was on batteries only after 1440 UT, that explains the higher SNR. Good music, and yes the jingles are always top. 'Oh oui, c'est TDP !'

The first minutes even the spectrum was dancing to the music.;)
No further problems with propagation today, but as SNR seems to be limited to approx. 20 dB again even minor local disturbance causes audible dropouts.
The last minutes it was definitely me working heavy on the laptop to blame. I really should leave it alone when logging.........

The first log is from last week, with the computer on batteries only, in a house (built in the 70's) near power lines (local line). SNR was luckily very good, though the reception here of most DRM (and many AM) signals use to be a catastroph. Location is around 85km north from Paris.
The second log was made back in Alsace (french-german border), yesterday. Due to ceramic heaters in the house and the neighborough (again a catastroph for DRM), I needed to let the laptop run on batteries again to avoid QRM. Result is 68% audio in an half-hour.
As always, nice programming.

By the way, i remember last week's transmission was not stereo at around the 60-70th minute (around the end of my log) : my recording sounded like there was only the left channel. Or maybe some error here in the decoding...

Delayed start today (> 1 min), and unfortunately a very short log due to a crash of my DWT. This happened once, recently, but I could quickly solve the problem. Now it's 1 hour long I try to find out what's happening with the DWT without any luck, it won't be recognised by the USB port. Any idea ? So... too late to log today's end of transmission.

Back after a while, when my DWT crashed during a TDP Radio programme (maybe the music was too loud hehehe). This saturday, a short tentative after 15:15 UT showed nothing but noise, no DRM signal trace available on the spectrum.

Without any power manager software installed yet on my laptop, I can't let it run on batteries after I am leaving, unless all Dream logging data would be lost. That was the case this saturday, so I could only try to listen to the first minutes of the show.
The first 2 minutes seemed to be of good SNR (up to 25dB) but with high fading, only about 50% audio decoded. Once my computer will be fully in order to work, I will keep trying to tune in ! I like this programme :-)

I came late and had to leave early. WinRadio G303i today, so no audio diagram. Deep fading after 15:00 UTC. Very conservative music today! I liked it! :cool:

perfect reception since a long time, but the music was far too loud. First I thought my DAT Level meter was broken, because it was permanet fixed to 0 dB, no movement of the bars. Sound was also awfully distorted. I guess less is more.

I did listen only the first thirtysomething minutes. I cannot confirm sign off after 65' but indeed signal path became rather bumpy after good results for 51 minutes.
Audio sounded still distorted (or is it normal for music of this type ?)
Here is todays report.
Reception results were splendid, but audio level is still to high!
Instead of creating a "fat" sound louder passages (and there are only such ones :) ) sound distorted.
Hmm, after 20min I was deaf from that 0dB sound level. Fortunatley signal disapeared then.... I really hope that Issodun will give better results.
Results today were slightly worse than last saturday.
Unbelievable that sound problem is still not fixed !?
@Carsten: marking the option "mute audio" helps a lot ;)
Interestingly much better results than Carsten, only a few dropouts today.
They should really do something about the audio problem!

At last I've clear channel without QRM from Belaruskoe Radio on 6.010 MHz. Audio is perfect.
If one wants to know what distortion is, one should tune in to this station.
Have a look at the WMER vs carrier plot with its umbrella shape and at the audio spectrum.

We are sorry for the audio these past few weeks, but it seems the people at the transmitter site have not fixed it yet.
Next Saturday is the last broadcast from Germany, then we will switch to France for 7 days a week.

Excellent reception but I had to mute the audio.
Knowing the attitudes of a few DJs, I could imagine that they even want it to sound like this, perhaps the programme material delivered to the TX site is already distorted and leveled without headroom.

I agree, I have never heard/ seen the problem from Sackville or Issoudun like this, and what I got today (with audio from CVC) when I tuned in a few minutes too early, confirms that it is not your problem ;)! Sorry if you misunderstood my previous comments on the audio problem.
Anyway reception from Issoudun seems to be a lot more reliable in my area, so from my point of view a good decision to do the transmissions from France in the future.

Audio quality was the same mess, than in the weeks before. I also heard DW content in the background.
