View Full Version : 5875 kHz BBC WS from Kvitsoy (0700- 0900)
Hi all,
good results using the DWT, rather long IR, no problems switching between Rampisham and Kvitsoy
Simone
Hi Simone, Kvitsoy uses a log perodic antenna for B05, interesting to see your comment on the impulse response.
James
Hi James,
here is an example what the IR from Kvitsoy looked like this morning
Simone
Hi all,
bad results today using the DWT/ DRMSWR, only an unattendended log then, so don´t know what caused the problems after 0730
Simone
Hi all,
better results using DReaM this morning, but big variations in SNR, different configuration today not using UEP anymore, seems this frequency worked much better from Rampisham in the past weeks.
Simone
Hi all,
good decoding today but results from Rampisham looked better on this frequency.
Simone
Hi,
quite good reception this morning. I stopped logging when local interference caused dropouts (in the last minute, not logged).
Roland
Hi all,
quite good and more stable than the past days using the DWT and DRMSWR, see attachment
Simone
Hi all,
pretty good results again this morning using the DWT, see attachment
Simone
Hi all,
better results at the start than the past days from Rampisham, see attchment
Hi,
Good reception today from Kvitsøy.
Time: 08:44 until close down @ 08:58 UTC.
Hi all,
pretty good results this morning, see attachment
Simone
Hi all,
here is a comparison between Kvitsoy and Rampisham this morning, in the first hour some dropouts from Norway, Rampisham was perfect from 0720 but as usual only a very weak signal (-30dB) at the beginning.
Btw like yesterday it seems only Rampsiham is using the normal datastream and Kvitsoy a backup with no dataservice, textmessages, ID etc, see also different audio bitrates in the attachment
Simone
Hi all,
good results this morning still with the back up encoding, see attachment
Later today Kvitsoy was using the normal datastream again.
Simone
Hi all,
quite good after a weak start in the first minutes, see attachment

Simone
Hi all,
again problems in the first 20min, see attachment
Simone
Hi All
5875 kHz noted with weak signal here today.
Cheers, Chris
Hi all,
good results this morning, signal got a bit weaker towards the end (see green graph for signal strength)
Simone
Hi all,
pretty good results this morning
Simone
Pretty good today. Some fast selective fading but stable signal strength.
Hi all,
strong and stable signal, perfect results this morning

Hi all,
good results this morning
Simone
Hi all,
here is a complete report from Kvitsoy today, no problems with interference on 9470 kHz, bad conditions and a weaker signal in the last 2 hours on 7465 kHz.
Simone
Hi all,
a few problems from Kvitsoy today
Simone
Hi all,
seems Kvitsoy started a bit late this morning ;)
Simone
Hi all,
a few dropouts on 5875 kHz, perfect as always on 9470 kHz, not so good conditions on 7465 kHz, and the EPG is very slow.

Hi all,
perfect results this morning
Simone
Hi all,
a weaker signal than usual and some dropouts in the second hour this morning
Simone
Hi all,
better than from Rampisham in the first hour
Simone
Bad results this morning.
Good results this morning.
Simone
Perfect again this morning.
Simone
A good signal with regard to signal strength but a low SNR hampering proper decoding on this transmission here. To me, this looks like an improperly tuned TX, here is a 10 minutes report.
Roland
SNR went up during the course of transmission.
Roland
Too low SNR. There must be something wrong at TX site.
Still problems at the Tx this morning, limited SNR, so no good decoding despite a strong signal.
Simone
Again a low and limited SNR this morning at the beginning, transmission lasted longer than scheduled.
Simone
A low SNR at the start yesterday, much better after the Tx break, perfect results also today.

Quite good, I think I was standing under a bridge at 08:11.
Good results this morning.
Simone
Nearly perfect again today using the DWT.
Simone
Great results this morning.
Simone
Very good results again this morning.
Simone
Problems with a weak signal in the first 20 minutes, perfect later.
Simone
Quite good reception despite fog QRN.
Pretty good conditions after 20 minutes, all dropouts then caused by Tx problems with frequent interruptions of the signal.
Simone
Hi,
I'm a little bit too close to Kvitsöy for this frequency. Despite that I reached a CDA of 83 %. Listening time: 08:25 - 08:58 UTC.
Signal was too weak in the first 25 minutes, quite good results later.
Simone
Better results than from Rampisham in the first hour.
Simone
Good results from the beginning.
Simone
A delayed start, then datastream problems at 0720- 0724 using the local backup then.
Simone
Looks like there were again problems with the datastream this morning, otherwise pretty good results.
