Hi all,
Sines 13790 kHz also strong and stable today in Helsinki.
Seppo
Hi all,
perfect reception and very good sound quality.
Hi all,
very strong signal. I had to switch of RF Amp and use the 20 dB attenuator. Signal still was in the order of S9!

Daniel
Hi,
very good reception.
When there is fast fading and one uses a slow AGC as I do, Dream seems to have some problems quite unlike the DRM Software, see screenshot for a comparison.
I have noticed this phenomen several times, mostly on transmissions from Sines.
Roland
Hi all,
very good signal. At 16:57 - 17:54 UTC 100%. SNR Max. 35.3 dB

Daniel
Hi,
only slow fading today and not much difference between both software decoders.
Roland
Hi,
Perfect reception until the sudden close down at 17:55 UTC!
Hi all,
strong and stable signal. I just noticed that turning TV set on at 17:28 and off at 17:47 caused interferences reducing SNR about 4 dB.
73, Seppo
Hi all,
also here strong and stable signal.

Hi,
Excellent reception here as well!
The transmission ended exactly on time, 17:55, in the middle of a record by Fleetwood Mac.
Hi all,
strong fading today.

Daniel
Hi,
currently (16:45 UTC), there seems to be a severe encoder/transmitter problem on this frequency. Signal is strong but neither DRMSWR nor Dream can gain sync for a few minutes now.
Roland
Here is my report, TX problems started at 1640 UTC and did not disappear until the end of transmission.
Roland
Hi Roland,
they fixed the problems at 17:00 UTC. I don't know what happened. Except that, very strong and stable signal around S9+50dB.
Hi,
Excellent reception today with the highest SNR (30.7dB) I have ever received using my AR-88D, 5 minutes later I recorded 31.2dB.

Hi,
perfect reception during my logging period.
About 5 minutes before the start of DRM transmission, CRI ended its AM transmission on the same frequency. They were using the unbelievable bandwidth of +/-10 kHz!
International regulations seem to be non-existent for them.
Roland
Hi all,
perfect the whole time. Just a bit weak at the very begining. There also was a co-channel interference. But no problem at all.

Hi All,
I just enjoyed DW's music programme until closing down at 17:55 UTC.
Even with my "deaf" receiver good reception free of any drop-outs. Good sound (although I prefer DW's classic & jazz programme later in the evening)

Hi,
some interference from a thunderstorm that moved over my location.
Signal also moved quickly up and down a lot.
Roland
Perfect!
High SNR and stable
Bernd, DF9RB
Not perfect but not bad either.
Roland
Hi all,
attached my result. The droput at 17:23 was caused by changing the downconverter. Today i build a new one with a ceramic resonator. The result till 17:23 is the new one, then it is the SAT Schneider modul as reference. It seems that it needs still some optimization ;-).

Hi all,

Absolute perfect. I wonder why they don't try Mode A with a much higher bitrate from Sines? IR is always just a single peak.

With this fieldstrength the SNR even stays very high in the deep fading notches.

Good results again:
20,96 kbps, they are becoming more courageous, aren't they ? ;)
Hi Andreas
This is the plot of probably the last transmission using analogue audio input from Sines. From now on, all the program material will be fed to the transmitters in digital format. On the frequencies of 7265, 15545 and 15265 we are using multiplexed data input since about 3 months. Of course if we have multiple programs in a single transmission, we need to share the bitrate among all programs, and the sound quality will go down.
Hi Carlos,
but analogue audio was better than no audio , just silence as long as I tried :(
It is the same now on 15435 kHz.
But good results anyway, see attachment
73, Simone
Hi,
there were some interruptions in transmitted audio.
Stereo sound quality was excellent, despite the low bitrate of 17.26 kbps used for the audio stream. It is my impression that audio quality on Sines transmissions is better at low bitrate than what I am used to from Wertachtal transmissions on 3995 kHz.
Signal strength varied a lot, more than my receiver would tolerate without manual adjustment (it hasn't got much dynamic in AGC), this may be the reason for a few of the dropouts.
Roland
Hi all,
good results, not sure what caused the two dropouts, audio was back today, but there were some breaks in audio.

A bit weak signal + QRM + fading makes a good(?) salad of bad results. I have never received this frequency well enough.
See the mountainous log.
John
Hi,
mostly a very strong signal from Sines. Perfectly sounding audio despite the relatively low bitrate.
Roland
Some deep fade-outs caused dropouts on my receiver which has almost no AGC.
Roland
A similar result as yesterday. A few very short and very fast fade-outs. If I had a fast AGC, I guess it would compensate it but I haven't.
Roland
Very good results with DWT and Degen DE31 Loop indoor. I don't know what caused the dropout at 17:17 UTC.

Hi,
13 MHz is quite a superb band. Almost perfect with >30 dB SNR.

Again perfect results. DW Sines knows how to do DRM. Some others still need a lot learn to avoid low signal levels, interferences and selfmade tx breaks and so on.

Hmm, good until 17:17, where the signal was lost.
I tuned in just to say Good Bye to 13790 kHz and WHOOPEEEE - 34 dB !!!! - Very good until fading out from 17:20 UTC on.
Sines, 13790 kHz is back on stage.
There were a few moments with fading.
Roland
Strong signal, a few dropouts towards the end due to very rapid fading.
Roland
Hi,
13790 kHz most of the time good, but at 16:04 - 16:25 no audio, SNR only 8dB,
Seppo
Hi all.
Her report over 157 min from this freq. CDA 99%. ok SNR up and down for very strong AURORA.
Hi,
This frequency was very stable today with very good SNR. At the time of the dropout I was watching the floods in Switzerland on TV - no idea what that was...
Terje
Hi,
>35 dB SNR at times, but generally the SNR went downhill all the time until 1600 UTC when things got complicated with a lot of drop-outs.

Hello to all,
This is my second best SNR result since I listen to DRM with the Digital World Traveller, the best result at least with the Degen DE31 antenna. Very good and stable, and worth listening with the stereo stream.
73, de Stephane
Hello,
Very good result here. Low SNR at around 1505 and 1635 UT comes from batteries->AC power switching and antenna adjustment.
73, de Stephane
Hi,
A bit bumpy with QSB but good on average anyway.
Terje
lots of dropouts, last half hour especially bad
This doesn't seem to be a particularly good frequency, Sines can do better than that. There was quite some interference.
Roland
Perfect as usual on this frequency. But why only 14.5 kbps:confused:

quite good, like Carsten already mentioned, using a higher bitrate should be no problem

Hi ALL
After a long period that I`m not able to login (I dont know why!!!) I`m back.
Very interesting this results on 13790, because probably (from 15:00 to 15:59) you have an AM signal with similar strenght, 10 KHz down. The AM transmission on 13780 KHz, in deutsch, is also send from Sines, with 250 Kw and beamed to 40ş. And it is interessant to see that an AM station can working just closed to a DRM transmission with minor problems. I dont know about to listen AM station closed to DRM, but we make all to improve the spectrum of our TXs for protect the near AM stations, from the QRM made by DRM transmitter.
Hi Carlos,
Just as a matter of interest I recorded the first 5 minutes just before and after 15 UTC, first AM, then after 5 minutes I switched to DRM. At my location neither service does not cause any problems whatsoever the other. I cut out a 4 minutes long segment of the recording with the switchover in the middle. The 2.2 MB Real Audio file is yours if you drop me a line.
The DRM Log thus started 5 minutes into the transmission. Good reception except for a couple of short dropouts.
